Artists you think need to release a greatest hits
Are there any artists who don't have a greatest hits that need to release one?
Or artists who have released ones in the past but need release another with added music. I would love for Jlo to release one. She had one planned at one point which got cancelled. I have only ever liked one album out of the 5 she released so it would be nice. Personally i think JLO has a fantastic back catalogue within the five albums she released so to own them would be a treat. Michael Buble. Downloaded his back catalogue during the summer to see what all the fuss about. His albums were dull if i am honest. But his singles are really good. |

Jennifer Lopez' singles were really good in the beginning.
If You Had My Love is one of my genuine favourite 90s tracks. Waiting For Tonight Play Ain't It Funny etc |

Coldplay could if they wanted after their next album. They already have loads of hits, but if the new album yields a few more they should have more than enough for a greatest hits. Would be a big deal considering how big they are worldwide, and how many huge recognisable hits they've had.

No one! A greatest hits should be a greatest hits and not a singles collection from the past 10 years work. I hate greatest hits released. Some of my favourite acts have released them and they're nothing more than money spinners.
However, it is nice when they're not lazy and add a few more new songs to it. It's all well and good to have a collection of songs on one CD, but in this age we can do that ourselves. I think more acts should go down the route Bjork did with her greatest hits. She asked her fans to vote for the songs which they wanted on there. Interestingly, It's Oh So Quiet never made the cut

Would love for Mariah to add songs from her last 4 albums onto a new GH. I never liked charmbracelet but a few songs on there she released on singles i would love to own physically. Emancipation of mimi was a totally overated album and even though i own it, i would gladly chuck it if the singles from that were on a GH.
Alicia Keys - Never liked her first two albums and even though i own her last two albums, i quickly got bored of them. She has done some fantastic songs and i don't own Fallin, A woman's worth and If i aint got you physically. |

MADONNA needs to release a proper full career-so-far spanning set. Celebration was OK, but it could (and should) have been much much better. Hopefully they are waiting for a real landmark moment to release such a collection.... i sure hope so! ![]() I can imagine Rihanna and Black Eyed Peas releasing one before next Christmas. The only artist I thought was truly due a hits collection was Pink - and that came out last week. (it could have been better though )

Paul McCartney definitely needs a proper full-career one, he's had Wings Greatest (1970-1978), Wingspan (1970-1984) and All the Best! which was from (1972-1987) with all of them having a bit of overlap between.
He's had no greatest hits compilation from 1986-present and he's released a wealth of material in that time; Flowers in the Dirt, Off the Ground, Flaming Pie, Run Devil Run, Driving Rain, Chaos & Creation in the Backyard, Memory Almost Full and Electric Arguments as the Fireman with Youth. If I was Paul, I'd release two compilation albums, a Wings-centred one (McCartney-McCartney II), and a solo-based one (Tug of War-Electric Arguments) on the current Wingspan model, a disc of chart hits and a disc of album favourites: |

Beyonce, after her next album. She's had so many worldwide hits off her three albums, it makes sense.

I think I've heard about 9 tracks from B'Day and I have never played the album in my life. The same can be said for Sasha... |

I agree with the poster who mentioned Jennifer Lopez, I think she should release one. Might be better though just to release one with the older songs.

Muse they've become really popular over the last few years. I doubt most of their new fans won't have their older stuff.
As said earlier a Coldplay one would be good. |

Totally agree with Jennifer Lopez.
It would be perfect timing for her as well, starting out on American Idol. All she'd need to do is get a few new hits to throw on top. My iTunes is basically a greatest hits anyway seeing as I only have her better known singles; Love Don't Cost A Thing Waiting For Tonight Jenny From The Block Ain't It Funny Get Right Let's Get Loud Play I'm Real All I Have I'm Glad Hold It, Don't Drop It Control Myself Probably a few more too. |

I think greatest hits albums are dead.
I'm a Pink fan but i'm not buying the hits album i have the songs from her albums already. Most people have some sort of music collection on computer now, and they make playlists up, that's what i did for Madonna's Celebration i changed the running order to date of realease and added the songs that should of been on the cd anyway. I will do the same for Pink. |

Kate Bush
Yes, The Whole Story was released back in 1986, but a more up-to-date collection, with some new songs and a DVD of all her vids, would be fantastic (although a brand new album would be better) |

Neat idea, but lets face it, Dame Kate would not go down either road anytime soon.
she is undoubtably the BRITISH Queen Of Pop. Her songs are so poetic and raw and add a touch of class while being so outrageously out there! simply one of a kind, but Bjork and Florence & The Machine and Marina & The DIamonds have brought that to the fore and are very respective in their own rights of channeling a similar vibe in their work (Bjork especially across over two decades).Would love for MADONNA to release a HUGE collection after her next line of albums of all her singles (including True Blue of course) all remastered in a fine collection and some of her original unreleased demo recordings and b-sides through each era, would be fantastic in so many ways! Celebration was very warm on the idea and was wonderfully presented but i feel that when she has released her next albums with her record deal she will get a compilation ![]() I think next year when RIhanna has released singles from LOUD she will be due a Greatest Hits! through almost 6 years she has achieved a lot of hits...and she's not 23 yet! so that would be brilliant with a couple of new songs too. Black Eyed Peas will be due one next year i can feel. I can see that after Beyonce's next album she will have a collection similar to P!nk's this year of hits, because she has had a few anthems and tunes throughout the decade and Destiny's Child has had a GH before so it seems like it will come within the next few years (i am a bit Marmite with her material though, there's a lot of distaste for me with her recent stuff but i like Crazy In Love and Baby Boy and Me Myself and I and Deja Vu). Would love for Damon Albarn to do a Gorillaz Greatest Hits after their next album, but work it with some demo recordings too! would be a sensational album collection. LOVE Gorillaz, i would love them to get the 2006 Grammy performance with Feel Good Inc./Hung Up performance which is one of my ALL TIME favourites either on CD audio or DVD just visually a defining moment with Madonna segued into the digital cartoon musicians, EPIC is a word unworthy of it's effect it had on me the first time i saw it. Confessions On A Dance Floor and Demon Days MADE 2005! just woah!! |
