I laughed for two weeks then I cringed. It is entertaining it is embarassing. She believes she will win it and she really could but why do voters want to destroy the show. They have no Cowell to get at, the winner doesn't generally get work and lets face it will she be asked to dance anywhere? I didn't want to lose Patsy tonight because she tried ( hence the 2 stone loss, Anne has lost nothing) I am at the point of giving up this show because it is not called strictly come entertainment but dance has to play a part and it is farcial for Anne to be there when she does not even try. Forget It I give Up

Has anyone a good suggestion for movie week for Ann ,? One that involves the heroine lapsing into a coma or dropping down a mine shaft in the opening scene ? Please .

Kathy Bates in Misery

OP - The answer to your question is simple, Ann is entertaining enough people to get the votes. She might not be your cup of tea or mine, but others enjoy her and Anton's spectacles.

I don't watch it, but surely you cannot blame Ann, she wouldn't be on this programme if she had not been invited. She was invited and so look to blame the TV station that put comic entertainment above the ability to dance.

I suggest a visit to an optician to get their own changed then.

She's not much older than Pam (a comic for not the nine o'clock news) - at least Pam manages to hold her own... so before they start you just never know how it's going to pan out... just look at Michelle.

Ann and Anton are still there because people find them amusing!
Weird, non?
A publicly funded show, in which the public vote to see people they find amusing.
I must write to my MP.

Yep very true... the only people you can blame is the voters. In my experience, voters always get it wrong (unless I agree with the result).

Do people who vote for her hate the show?

And as the public have the last say, and as the judges have consistently ranked AW at the bottom, ultimately any fault still remains with the voting public, not the production team who vote comic entertainment above dancing ability.

It's no point blaming Ann's voters. They are voting for their 'favourite' like Tess asks the viewers too.

Not enough people voted for Patsy. That's where the problem lies.

No, if they hate the show they wouldn't even bother to watch it let alone waste good money on it. Unless they have shares in BT or something.

And if there's no point in blaming the people responsible for keeping her in, then there really is no point in blaming anyone.

What's to blame? She was more popular than Patsy.

Problem?

You mean, do I have a problem with the fact that a talentless joke of a contestant is getting more public votes than more skilled and committed rivals and is comprimising the artistic integrity of the show? No I don't actually, I think it's quite amusing. My problem at the moment is the length of time it's taking to reply to posts. Not sure if it's this forum or my ISP again.

You're right of course Sid.

There's a saying 'Put your money where your mouth is.' Ann's voters choose to do this, they have every right to do so and that is why she's still there - but oh the agony I suffer as she remains.

Funny though.....If you ask the supporters of any other couple they can always justify their votes even if it's down to looks or the show that they've been on, the most ardent Ann lovers on this site steadfastly refuse to answer the question.......

The Right Honourable Ann Widdecombe remains in Strictly Come Dancing because the British public rightly wish her and Anton (her dance partner in the programme) to be there.

I am glad they are participants in Strictly Come Dancing and wish them every success in this popular competition.

Probably something to do with people voting for her so she can be kept in

All I want to know is why....what do people see in her performance that makes them spend good money to vote for her? You say 'rightly' - why has she earned her place more than those who put hours of effort into the performance? Does this country now value inneptitude and incompetence?

Not judging, just asking.......
