John Seargeant's revenge, a new theory...

...the public are voting for Ann because they did not have the chance to vote for John Sergeant to win SCD, because he resigned and a lot of the public think it was due to pressure from the judges/professionals made Sergeant resign. This is a punishment meted out by the public for what happened 2 years ago, whereby they were denied a choice to make Sergeant win if that was what they wanted. The public felt cheated.

This was suggested in the Sunday Times today funnily enough. They said that the viewers were angry at John's decision to leave, and felt that he'd been bullied into making that move by the BBC. It thinks that the great British public want Ann to win in his place to serve them right, so they're all voting for her to upset the whole show. It would seem to be true wouldn't it - fully expect her to be in the final, and Kara, Scott and Pamela to go before her. I reckon the final will be a close run thing between her and Matt tbh !

I really hope not. That would be to say the GBP is extremely thick, and I'd rather believe it isn't.

Not "thick" but "sick".

It's a fair point actually.

The abuse John suffered that year was ridiculous.

It was, and I'm still cross about him resigning. I liked watching him dance, and he pulled out a couple of really delightful ballroom ones, as well as the comic latins.

Having said that, I don't think it's crossing the minds of anyone who's voting this year, they just find Anton and Ann a great comedy duo and want to see more.

The sort of people who keep voting Widdy through are not mentally competent enough to remember back two years

That would be some grudge to hold I'd say there's a lot of people that do it for fun, some people may feel represented by her, like that lady with a dog that thought Ann was doing great dancing-wise.

I think they like Anton, too.
