'now the show can go back to being a singing competition''
So many people have said this on here now Wagner is gone, are you forgetting that wand errection are still in it? What a joke.
If they thought he couldn't sing, they shouldn't have put him in the final line up should they? At least he gets to go on the tour!

This made me so angry. Simon pretty much destroyed the theory of it being a singing competition by keeping in Katie over TreyC and Aiden. He's such a hypocritical little man.

If One Direction win, it blows his theory of the competition being about 'talent' out of the water. I have seen drunk tramps on the high street singing at 5 in the morning with more talent than that lot.

Exactly, like he gives a flying fig what the public want, they wanted Katie out, but he ignored that and kept her in each time!
People who actually believe they are watching something which is just about a singing competition are pretty naive. All they care about is getting viewers to watch the show and people to vote. Keeping Katie in would get the protest vote going to other acts... "I want Katie out, so I'll vote Matt", or whatever. |

How can it be a singing competition when you get the established acts on Sundays miming every week!
Edit: I probably need to rephrase that but you know what I mean! |

She brought in the column inches, got people talking... any controversy is good for such a show.

The X-Factor would only work as a singing competition if they consistently put through the best singers; however, they routinely turn away hundreds of amazing singers at auditions, in favour of a few skinny teenagers who can barely sing in tune.

Basically it's a singing competition when it suits Simon. When it doesn't suit him then it's about "more than just the singing".
The end. |

True, it could have gone back to a singing competition weeks ago, if it wasn't for that but at least justice has been done at last

Also you have the controversy of Gamu getting booted off in favour of weaker singers Katie and cher. It hasn't been a singing contest in years. It's just a soap opera with a few crap records pedalled a few months later.

This show hasn't been a singing contest in a long time. It's merely a soap now about four judges who try to out do each other and we have the odd musical interlude from a contestant. It's getting to the point now that when the judges give their feedback they hardly ever comment on the performances now but use it to take a swipe at each other. All highly entertaining don't get me wrong but Simon can't then wet his knickers when voting doesn't go his way when he's turned it into an entertainment show/soap.
