It's like a stuck record.

Why no complaints about Gavin? He's hardly setting the dance floor alight and seems to be getting votes based on his looks.

But what else can you base them on?

It would be highly unprofessional of any of the contestants to show anything but enthusiasm on the Tessanine and elsewhere. Also would attract viewer criticism - has happened at odd moments in the past (exchanges of looks got picked up and commented on) so everybody's face must smile, whatever they feel.

Anton did say "vote for Matt" however.

He said that to cover for his embarrassing mistake of calling him Mark.

Why should we stop complaining? We are entitled to complain as you are to vote for her.

At least complaining is cheaper than voting to keep her in every week.

Just because one CAN do something doesn't make it admirable.

Have to agree with this! Really don't understand the logic in people saying that Ann is entertaining. Why is someone being rubbish entertaining? It might be funny for the short term but at this stage in the game surely the joke has worn thin. I'm afraid it just shows the British mentality that they support the underdog and identify with losers. It's very sad that people would rather watch someone who is totally inept at something rather than someone who shows skill.

His representation of the Welsh nation perhaps? But it's likely NOT to be on his dancing ability or progress, nor his entertainment value (although it might be Katya's legs & bottom for some )

If it's not the BBC's fault or the public's then the only solution is the off button...........

... I reckon this thread could be sorted out by a mahooosive session of British Bull Dog.

(in the snow and preferably on a traditional Primary School playground with lots of gravelly bits).

Looks which are vastly over-rated imo.......

How many threads does it need?

People complain about her but it seems they are obsessed, by the number of threads saying basically the same thing.

It's a good job Digital Spy Strictly Forum is not a tv show or it would have been cancelled due to being dull and repetitive by now.............

He doesn't do it for me personally, I like some intelligence in the mix, but each to their own.

Rather like humour, music and the arts, it's all subjective.

Not mine - I wouldnt vote for her if she was the only one on the show!

Leave all the voting to the judges and shut the phonelines for good and Ann types would only last a couple of weeks........would make the show pointless but may please some.

Doubt it would remain in the timeslot or even same channel.

Agreed. But it would be the only way Ann style contestants would leave very early. As some think is what should happen

They could get people that are funny and still able to learn to dance.

Presumably AW represents the English nation then?

The BBC invited her on the show. That's it in a nutshell really.

I guess (and it is only supposition) the Beeb wanted the comic turn for the ratings, and assumed AW would be voted off before this stage. Maybe they thought the JS episode was a one off and couldn't happen again. Who knows. As I said it is only guesswork on my part.

But if I am right, I will repeat what I was told as a child. "Be careful what you wish for!"

Presumably people aren't complaining about Gavin because, no matter how poor a dancer he may be, he's making an effort and actually trying to learn the dances. No one expects all the contestants to be brilliant dancers but we do expect that they try their best, which is what Gavin's doing even if the results of his efforts aren't great.

If this was a very generalised dancing competition where the contestants can dance in any style they want then perhaps it would be okay for Ann to interpret her routines in her own way but it's not a general dancing competition. The whole point of Strictly is that contestants learn specific dances and Ann is making absolutely no effort whatsoever to do that.

All of the above assume that people are voying for Ann.

I can't stand the woman - however Anton is a different thing altogether. He is witty in his routines and carries the dances he has to do with good humour.

People respect that. If it came to a celebrity doing a poor, boring dance v something that made me laugh out loud - then I would vote for Anton.

And the purist may dislike the fact I would vote for a celbrity - but it is no more skewed than (as has been commented on these very pages) people voting for their favourite celebrities or Gavin because he is "fit"
