For next year, some TV channel should grab the chance to run a dance competition with serious intention in mind, and turn it into I'm A Dancer, Keep Me In Here, but change the voting to one person one vote to get the worst dancer out.

With enough small tweaks, the show could be different enough from the BBC (eg one decent presenter, only three judges) not to cause problems, and it could attract its own devoted audience.
Then the crazies and the loonies can stay with BBC SCD, hurting nobody's feelings, and the true dance fans could migrate.

Hope the Isle of Wight TV channel takes note.

Yes, I would watch that and happily leave Strictly for the masses

It would be easy to fix the current Strictly. You have decent judges and no public vote. By "decent" I would suggest:

Craig
Brendan
Arlene
Karen H

End of. (Oh, and ditch Bruce and Tess)

And while we are doing a remodelling job ... Claudia gets to keep ITT only if she stops acting thick (we all know she's very bright), and starts to ask people the hard questions: "Bruno, explain why Scott's AS deserved a 9 when he forgot the routine, stumbled twice and basically was rubbish?".

and if he waffles and doesn't answer, ask him again.

That would work for me.........

It's called So You Think You Can Dance and will be on Sat night Beeb 1 in January! You still vote for your favourite however many times you like, but they're all good dancers

Agreed - I know the show - but ballroom dancing it definitely ain't.
And that's what some of us want to watch, and the trad Latin.
Last year's SYTYCD had the males mostly dancing in trainers with shirts flapping. Hardly graceful. Certainly not ballroom. And I found it unwatchable.

Sorry but iIt sounds really dull and would only appeal to a very narrow audience who take these things too seriously. It would simply flop.

No kidding. And, given what it costs to produce a quality TV show, I doubt there'd be enough viewers to attract the money necessary.

Unfortunately bbc are selfish and won't do that I'm afraid to say. Approve of your idea however, but the chances are very slim of it happening.

I agree entirely. I didn't watch it when it was last on our screens as Come Dancing - and neither did many others.

(There was no public vote - but if you want a serious competition then public phone in is not the way to go - very few people know enough about dancing to judge properly).

Unfortunately we don't have a TV channel on the Island.

Unfortunately we don't have a TV channel on the Island.
What? No channel with a "Wight TV is the Right TV" slogan?
No school kid with roving mobile or secret feed from cannily placed CCTV cameras?

I expire with disappointment.
