Top 2:
1. Matt - appears genuine and kind and has been producing top-notch performances despite his partner's hit-and-miss choreography. 2. Pamela - although she grates the nerves at times, I think she has such natural dance ability and really feels the music when she's performing (for me the only contestant to consistently do so). *** then the rest: Kara - has done some excellent dances but for me she just goes through the music sometimes. Also, she doesn't seem to be taking in judges comments half the time so I don't know how genuine she is in front of the camera. The virulence of her fans here is also a bit off putting. Scott - I knew he'd benefit from favoritism early on, especially from Len. Again, so excellent performances but doesn't seem to feel the music in most of the Latin dances Gavin - signs of a nascent personality developing at last. Ann - I'd rather she be on SCD than in the British government. |

Kara - Fantastic dancer, great personality, some stand out dances and one half of a great partnership.
Scott - So the last couple of weeks haven't been great. But we know what he is capable of.... Tango, VW and Jive all brilliant. Hope he finds some energy from somewhere, as I feel when on top form he's the best competition (dancewise) for Kara. Plus, he is aided by Natalie, whose choreography this year has been sublime. Gavin - Not the best dancer, but I love his sense of humour. Appreciate that others don't. Think he's a great anecdote to Katya's craziness, and I live in hope of a 'Gethin' moment. (Although we are running out of weeks )Matt - My main problem with Matt is Aliona. Her choreography is not to my taste, and as much as I feel I should be liking him more, I'm not. ITT have been hammering home about 'light and shade' choreography all series, it's a shame Aliona doesn't appear to be watching. She had one hand on the glitterball when she was paired up with Matt, shame she can't adapt her style to fit him a bit more. Pamela - Fair enough she's good, but the gurning and the gushing. All too much for me. And Ann. Oh dear.

It will probably be Ann and Anton doing the tandem hang gliding ....they have the American Smooth this week.....so I expect Ann to be on wires throughout.

Pretty well all been said but in order:
Kara - Beautiful dancer, wonderful lines, probably the best female celeb they have ever had. She comes across as a sweet girl too. Scott - Quite cute. When he is good he is very, very good but when he is bad he is rubbish. Still prefer him to Matt - Boring, sexless, too clean cut. Entirely too Blue Peter for my tastes but, to be fair, a surprisingly good dancer. Has he had some background in dance? Gav - Just an interesting mix, can't quite make him out but I have warmed to him. Katya seems endearingly protective of him. Pamela - Some of her dances have been remarkably good for a woman of her age but she comes across as insincere and gushing. Ann - Enough! It isn't funny and it isn't clever.(And she is a b****y conservative) Last edited by OldLady : 29-11-2010 at 14:40. Reason: Rubbish typing |

1. Pamela - I love her partnership with James. They're the ones who I look forward to see dance most and never fail to put a smile on my face each week.
2. Matt - I love him! He's such a cutie and him and Aliona seem to have a nice, genuine partnership. He produces good dances each week but in my opinion there hasn't really been a stand out performance. 3. Scott - Probably was the one I was most excited about when I heard he was taking part because I was a fan of him before and now I just love him him even more. I've enjoyed most of his routines. Natalie is an AMAZING choreographer so that automatically makes me like them more and I find him quite funny too. 4. Kara - Arguably the best dancer of the series but I can't warm to Artem and I find her a bit boring and she doesn't really make me want to vote or make me feel like I have to watch their dance again. 5. Ann - She does make me laugh and I still think Anton is a GENIUS although she does need to go because I don't think it will be right if she wins at better dancers expense. 6. Gavin - Really dislike him. I already disliked him after I'd seen him on 71 degrees north and he just leaves me cold and his dances are nothing special either. Katya also annoys me as I find her too over the top. |

1. KARA & ARTEM Need no introduction. They are the best couple (dare I say) EVER on SCD. I mean she just shines in every dance because Artem just knows what to choreograph for her and what works the best (although I'm not feeling those cartwheels no more). Their chemistry, however subtle, is off the charts
Couple to beat, although I hope no one does![]() 2. PAM & JAMES Were my favourite couple in the first few weeks. I mean their foxtrot and following salsa just blew me away. After that it all turned a bit lacklustre and ol' Pammy seemed to whither away. However in the last few weeks she's bounced back. I also love her partnership with James, who I've never liked in previous series. I wouldn't mind them earning a spot in the final ![]() 3. MATT& ALIONA Took off like a sky rockett but in his last dance he looked so awkward. That music was great and somehow Aliona's choreography messed it all up. I loved their samba but I just don't think I would want them to win. Having said that I do think they'll make it to the finals. If they then produce a ripping showdance...who knows ![]() 4. SCOTT & NATALIE Never warmed to either of them. Natalie got on my nerves last season when she and Ricky Whittle were so smug and thought they'd just win it all. Luckily Team Cola won. But Scott's just a whiner in my eyes and the way he was overmarked for a shocking AS just turned me off alltogether. Call him a taxi, that man can use some sleep:yawn: 5. GAVIN & KATYA Not good. In every sense of the word I mean the man just walks around with a sulking face and his hands permanently planted in his side. He thinks his horrendous routines 'look alright' and to top it all off he actually thinks he can compete with the other blokes when it comes to average dance ability. Not a chance mate. He has absolutely no chemistry with Katya who desperately seems to want to imply otherwise. What's that about. He should go next week if Ann is handed another pass to the next show (which I hope she isn't).6. ANN & ANTON Too much has been said about those two already. Beyond horrible sums it up for me No respect what so ever for the art of dancing and thinking they can get away with it. She needs to go far, far away and never set foot in the SCD studio again. I don't find her a bit funny. Just a waste of space. GET HER OUT

1. Scott & Natalie - When they're on form, they are a joy to watch. It doesn't bother me that they've been a bit hit and miss, past champions have been as well.
2. Kara & Artem - They've given us some scintillating routines and come across as very genuine couple. What you see is what you get with this pair. And they ooze chemistry. They were made to dance with each other. 3. Matt & Aliona - I don't have a tremendous amount of affection for these two (and I don't sense they have a great deal for each other), but they are undoubtedly very good and I was one of the few that enjoyed their contemporary styled AS. 4. Ann & Anton - The majority of the time I've loathed them. But they have given me the odd laugh and I do like Ann's spirit. 5. Pamela & James - Consistently overmarked, cringey cougar crap, awkward relationship at times. I don't like these two at all. 6. Gavin & Katya - Fed up of the incoherant mumbling, the puppy dog eyes, the 'awwwws' from the audience, playing the 'daughter card' all the time and the blank expression on Gavin's face during performances. With any luck, these two will be leaving next. |

Kara great dancer, and quite fearless considering some of the choreography Artem has thrown at her. Last Saturday wasn't her best, but they lost couple days training because of A's injury; even so they were pretty darn good. Matt Comes across as a genuinely nice guy & I love Matt's dancing; I don't think he's done a really bad dance the whole series to date. If he and Kara are in the final, I think he might lose out to Kara because, at the last minute, it all boils down to the showdance which is Artem's speciality. Pamela Like Kara she is quite fearless, seems she will give anything a go. If the show was split into age groups like regular comps - i.e. Under 35 and Over 35 - she would win hands down, I don't think there has been anyone near her age in any of the series who could come anywhere near her. She could win if the public admire her spirit and determination. Scott I don't watch soaps so never heard of him before scd; he's a bit of a rough diamond in some ways, but find something very likeable about him. Last week he not only looked tired, but ill. Maybe he needs to risk doing a weaker dancer this week by taking a few days out and catching up on some rest. He's a good dancer, has the talent, but he'll go nowhere if he ends up knocking himself out. Gavin Bit pathetic really; acts like a spoilt 10 year old. Couldn't believe he actually said he thought they (him & Katya) did "all right" on Saturday with their jive. It was dreadful, and what does he know anyway? Ann Like her or lump her, I think she's there at least another week or so, but really hope she doesn't make the final.

Please could someone remind me of what BoD actually stands for?
Can think of quite a few, in various languages, but still would like the official version. Recently saw AFAIK in a posting- good one, that, and one I'd not seen before. For this thread: OFCSNTWA. |

Kara - a beautiful, graceful dancer helped by Artem's superb choreography. But in addition to this, I find her completely endearing, natural and articulate when being interviewed. I hope she wins - she's got my (multiple) vote at least.
![]() Matt - I like him and I like Aliona's choreography. If he gets to the final she should make sure he wears guyliner and then it's job done! Gavin - No, he's not a great dancer. But he's not the worst there has ever been and I look forward to seeing him and Katya each week (followed by crushing disappointment, but that's life!) Patsy - Yes I know she's eliminated but in my house she is technically the 6th contestant. The other person doesn't count. I really liked Patsy. She wasn't a great dancer but she aquitted herself well, didn't take herself too seriously and enjoyed herself immensely. Scott - I liked his jive but other than that I can't remember any of his other dances. I'm sure he's a good dancer by the way the judges rave over him but he does nothing for me. I think he needs to lighten up a bit - he's too earnest for me. Pamela - I don't mind her but I don't rate James at all. I think his record of song choices and choreography over the years have been exceptionally naff. So far this series we have seen Pamela strip off during the routine 3 times. 3 times!!!! And sit at a table twice. Whether you like swings and unicycles or not at least Aliona varies her gimmicks each time. That's eeryone, isn't it?

1. Kara & Artem. Simply a brilliant dancer and a wonderful partnership with Artem. Right mixture of great technique and showmanship in their dances. She seems a lovely down to Earth girl & is not PR'd to death. Artem is hot too.
![]() 2. Pamela & James. I just love watching these 2 and they appear to be back to their best now after a dip a few weeks back. This is the woman who is a real inspiration to the over 60s. 3. Matt & Aliona. Matt is clearly a great natural dancer and they have done some great dances but not progressed as much as I'd hoped. They haven't totally wowed me since the Cha Cha in week 1. 4. Scott & Natalie. Nat is a brilliant teacher & choreographer and they have done some fantastic dances but are now struggling with Scott's workload + he does look ill and it wouldn't suprise me if he is diagnosed with some sort of virus after Strictly. I would love Scott to get his Mojo back but am not sure if it's going to happen. He could really struggle in the semis with 2 dances. 5. Gavin & Katya. Yes he's improved a bit in ballroom but not that much really. Still a long way from the standard of the top 4. 6. Ann & Anton. Awful woman...Awful dancer/walker. Grrr.

Kara. Her AT was absolutely fantastic. I think she brings passion and drive and star quality.
Matt. I want to want him first but I don't. His dancing is good but there's something in her personality that doesn't win me over. Scott. Has had good moments but recently, not so much. I like his attitude though. Pamela. Surprisingly good, although nowhere near as good as Kara. Didn't mention Beloved Billy once on Saturday. Gavin. Poor dancer, crp attitude. Should have gone home, not Patsy. Ann. Waste of space. The only competition is between the top 3. When keeping Ann in keeps one of them out will be the last nail in the SCD coffin. |

Kara - lovely dancer, lovely girl, really like her down to earth 'it's not all fun' openness, and when she hits her mark with a dance she's brilliant.
Gavin - Don't shout at me I like him, he makes me laugh, and I still think that somewhere in there is a really decent performance in him - well, I live in hope.Matt - I know he's very good and will probably deserve his win, but I just haven't warmed to him or his relationship with Aliona Pamela - Clinging on above Scott because Scott really annoys me, started off loving her, gone steadily off her as the weeks have gone on, the OTT personality is draining. Scott - He annoys the living daylights out of me, but his ballroom, ignoring this week, is more then decent. There's someone else in the competition, but I want to carry on pretending they left weeks ago

1. Matt & Aliona. My favourite couple. I think Aliona has been bold and daring with some of her choreography. It doesn't always come off, but I admire her for trying something different..and she has really pushed Matt to the limit. Should certainly be capable of producing that "wow factor" any time now.
2. Kara & Artem. Kara has improved immensely. The talent was obvious from the beginning, but she started rather self-consciously..just shows that Bruno does get it right sometimes, she followed his advice and look at her now.Kara could perhaps let herself go even futher, really lose herself in the routine, then we might see the best celebrity dancer in SCD history ! 3. Scott & Natalie. I'm putting them third based on a return to form. At their best, they have produced a couple of the finest routines seen this year. If they make the final, they can choose their favourite routines, and those could be show-stoppers. Not as good as Matt or Kara overall, but capable of producing a couple of brilliant performances. 4. Pamela & James. I've been unable to go along with all the "Pam Love" that appears to exist. I like her enthusiasm, and she has plenty of "bottle" but I'm generally underwhelmed with her performances. Undeniably very good for her age, other than that, just a few rungs up the ladder from average. 5. Gavin & Katya. Didn't take to him in the beginning. I have warmed a bit since, probably because I can now understand his rather dry Welsh humour. He had improved in the two/three weeks prior to Saturday's show..then he was given some awful choreography by Katya. Probably gone as far as he can, and I don't think he would be too disappointed to leave. 6. Ann & Anton. Probably best not to comment. They don't make me laugh, which I presume is their function on SCD..a lot of people must disagree, so good luck to them. |

Kara- I love her! Talented, elegant and modest, she is a wonderful dancer and seems a fantastic girl. I would love to see her win.
Matt- Very much like Kara in that he seems really nice and is good with it. However, I need to see a 'wow' dance from him to convince me how good he is. Scott- A tricky one. He's very good, at times, but I sense a detachment in recent weeks. I am not especially enthralled at this partnership but his Vienesse Waltz was incredible. Pamela- Gone off the boil recently and seems to have faded into the background. I think her poor performace in the Jive strained relations. She seems to be acting a lot, very self-aware. Ann- Ann makes me laugh. Shoot me. I like the partnership and find them an endearing couple. I realize that it is time for them to go, but they have provided entertainment for me and my family. Gavin- I was bored in week 2. I find him self-obsessed and completely lacking in personality and humour. He plays the voting game wonderfully, far better than Ann. |

Matt & Aliona Genuinely good dancer in both ballroom & Latin.
Kara & Artem A lovely dancer but I cannot warm to them as a partnership. Kara has little personality Scott & Natalie Scott isn't as good as Ricky but Nat's choreography is disguising his faults Pamela & James Don't like them at all. I find it all very false and unbelieveable. Best of the rest though Gavin & Kataya Male version of a dumb blonde. Ann & Anton I love Anton but enough is enough. The name of the show means dancing is involved not shoving. I'm still waiting for a wow dance from any of them to be fair. |

1. Kara and Artem - Love them to bits. Kara has tons of natural dance talent but it's Artem's amazing choreography that lets Kara truly shine on the dancefloor. They have that something extra special when they dance together, that sends shivers down my spine. Both gorgeous to boot.
2. Gavin and Katya ( ) - He's really crap dance wise but I can't but like him. I would fight with Claudia over who can take him as their pet His dancing is dire but I just can't warm to either of the next 3 couples, hence his 2nd place spot.3. Matt and Aliona - I think he's capable of much more but Aliona is missing the trick with her choreography. Seems like a nice guy... just too nice for my liking. I'm drawn to bad boys. ![]() 4. Pamela and James - I started really liking her, and she impressed me with her waltz, salsa and rumba. But as much as I laughed with her and Claudia at that hilarious recovery in salsa, with each following interview she started to grate on me more and more. I wish she would remember sometimes that silence is golden. 5. Scott and Natalie - I just can't take to Scott. His resemblance to Jim Carrey and his monkey impressions don't help. I liked Natalie last year and think she's an amazing choreographer, but she seems to be saying exactly the same things about Scott as she was saying last year about Ricky. 6. Ann and Anton - Words fail me really. I'm not a huge fan of Anton, and I think he really is the one to blame that Ann is still in the competition. Should he stuck to proper routines and not resort to "comedy" (I'm not finding it funny at all, but obviously a lot people are), Ann would be gone long time ago. |

love watching Matt and Kara - always most looking forward to their performances on a Saturday night. should both be in the final
Gavin - makes me smile. Bless him. I find his dances generally entertaining and fun to watch. content he is still there but do not consider he deserves a place in the final. Scott - something about him that annoys me for some reason. His dancing his inconsistent, stick of hearing about how tired he is and think he is overmarked generally (not his fault but Saturday was a disgrace when he stumbled around forgetting most of what he was supposed to be doing). At his best deserves to be in the final - but we don;'t see his best all that often. Pamela - I'm a bit "meh" when it comes to Pamela for some reason. think she is doing a good job but think maybe James lets her down with his choreography- although last couple of weeks have been much better where that is concerned. Should be in the semi final at the very least. Ann - did find her entertaining, and tbh she does make me laugh (which is more than can be said for some of them who have already left). however for me she is the one who should exit next. I accept its about entertainment, but it should also be about dancing. the best dancer should not necessarily win, but neither should someone who can barely put one foot in front of th eother sometimes, even though she might make me laugh. |

Matt and Kara are my joint favourites. I love them both and want to see them in the final. Just fingers crossed that Aliona gets the message that her choreography has to be about Matt and not her.
Scott's channeling of Norman Wisdom and his monkey impressions have put me off him. Also his Latin is not good but I do love his ballroom when he is on top form so I can forgive him alot. If he gets some sleep and comes back fighting next week then he will be my third favourite again. I can't decide about Pam. I like her some weeks then others she irritates me sooooo much. Hated her Charleston (though I hate Charleston's generally) and do not want to see her appear in one outfit only to strip it off as the dance starts ever again James take note! I do love Gavin. He makes me laugh every single week. His dancing is not very good but if others are voting for Ann in the name of entertainment then I feel no guilt whatsoever voting for Gavin. I refuse to give my opinion about Ann as I am sure a ban would ensue. And she just isn't worth it. |

Kara - most consistent woman in latin and ballroom and always marked fairly, giving her no advantage. WOW dances - paso, AT and some of the salsa.
Matt - most consistent male in latin and ballroom and always marked fairly, giving him no advantage. No WOW dances yet, hence my second place below Kara. Pamela and Scott - equal third. Neither consistent and both over marked at times, Scott especially. Gavin - I ahd he and Patsy equal but now she has gone, Gaving is in fifth place for me. I do think he was let down this week by rubbish everything - dance choreography, outfit and music! I'd prefer him to leave on a high, as Patsy did. Ann - she was entertaining but is no more. I don't think she will win but she may last beyond some of the others until the vote numbers pick up a bit. |

Matt and Aliona - Absolutely love Matt.
His personality and passion for dance seals the deal for me. He's just so lovely! And talented, obviously ![]() Gavin and Katya - These two make me smile so much, I love Gavin's attitude. I think a lot of people take him too seriously and think he actually thinks he's brilliant. ![]() Kara and Artem - I do like her but can't stand showmances and I don't care how hot people think Artem is, I don't think he's all that. Also, like someone else rightly said, the overrating of them that goes on here puts me off them a bit. Pamela and James - Hmm. I don't know. I think they're forcing the cheeky relationship too much and there's no denying she was overmarked on Saturday. She's good though. Scott and Natalie - Moan, moan, moan. Excuse, excuse, excuse. Ann and Anton - wish they would go home

1. Kara and Artem. It's the combination of her dancing skills, his choreographic ability, and I love how straightforward they are.
2. Gavin and Katya. He has no performance background - the only one in that situation. I love their partnership. Sometimes there are glimpses of some really lovely stuff in there, and I wish Katya would choreograph something simpler. 3. Matt and Aliona. In third place largely due to Aliona's choreography - they have no dances I wish to re-watch. He seems like a nice enough chap though there is a competitive streak coming through. 4. Scott and Natalie. He is really putting me off in his VTs, but her choreography is brilliant. I wish she been partnered with Matt. As it stands, as a pair they would frequently be 5th for me. 5. Depending on the week, Pamela and James would move up to 4th and Scott and Natalie move down to 5th. Pamela and James - she is worthy of the "game old bird" epiphet but there is too often a clumsy feeling to what she produces. Can easily do without the Billy references, the psychology references and the blow-up doll smile. 6. Ann and Anton. On another planet. The choreography of the likes of Artem and Natalie is hugely entertaining to me. Gavin in his VTs is funny to me. James produces some very broad-strokes comedy routines for Pamela. Added to the fact that their routines are painfully unamusing, she has one of the most off-putting personalities I have ever seen on SCD. I simply cannot understand why she is still in it. |
