Kara - beautiful dancer, lovely personality, nothing more to say really.

Scott - didn't have a good week, but is usually a great ballroom dancer, and I always admire Natalie's choreography.

Matt - not my favourite couple, but I can recognise that he is a good all round dancer, so would rather have him as one of the three finalists than any of the other couples below.

Pamela - I really like James, and want him to get to the semi-final, but Pamela annoys me and sometimes, from the judges comments, I feel as though I'm watching something completely different from them.

Gavin - Some of his routines have entertained me, and for a while it looked as though he was improving, but his time is up for me.

Anne - enjoyed the novelty value for the first couple of weeks but I've had more than enough of her now.

1. Kara: she was a slow burner for me. I thought she had talent but started off a touch shaky. However after her Paso and AT she has taken over as my favourite, particularly with the AT...stunning! I hope she wins.

2. Scott: when he was paired with Nat on the first show I thought he was a bit of a perve. I don't watch EE so had no idea who he was. However, once he did his QS I thought he was fantastic. If Kara doesn't win then I hope Scott does...however he does need to dance explosively next weekend otherwise I fear he may lose a lot if support.

3. Matt: the guy is clearly an accomplished dancer but I can't find any joy in his performance. I also found the Quest for a 10 irritating, I know Tess was bugging him about it but there have been a few comments from him that have made me wonder. I also am a big hater of Aliona's choreography.

4. Pamela: at the start, I thought she was great but I think she has peaked. I can't see any improvement from her now.

5. Gavin: I was determined to hate him as his reputation certainly preceeded him. However, I find his 'dumb and arrogant' act endearing in an odd way. The guy cannot dance though bless. I really don't like Katya's choreography either.

6. Ann: words fail me. I think she is a despicable person for her politics and beliefs and her clear contempt for dance and expectation of the glitterball makes me wince everytime she opens her mouth. How people can vote for that tripe she bandied out every week appalls me. Anton, however, has redeemed himself this year though.

Kara - A natural dancer. Made everything look so easy. Artem started pushing her so she had to get near her limit at times. Maybe the best dancer ever on the show, and a very likeable personality.

Matt - A quick learner and hard worker with good physical ability. He has become a good all-rounder and learned more than anyone else on the show IMO. Aliona has been pushing him to his limit and sometimes a bit over. Likeable and polite.

Scott - Very good ballroom dancer but doesn't seem to have the latin blood. Talks sensibly at times and at other times needs to go inane. He's probably very nice when he's calm.

Pamela - Good to see her dance before she is too old. I've had to reset my age limit restriction to ' If you're good enough, you're young enough'. If she was 30 years younger, she might have given Kara competition. She enjoys it. I think her 'larger than life' character might have worked with the luvvies, but she has to remember how to be herself to do better in the popularity stakes on Strictly. Best 'acting the dance' skills this series. Struggles a bit in the energetic dances.

Gavin - A misfit who has had to learn to survive in a strange land. More likeable than I expected. More about him adapting than his dancing. At first there was no hope, but there are occasional signs that he could dance and dance ballroom quite well. Might need more time to get there though.

Ann - Why is she on the show? I dont know. What useful thing can she achieve? Anton is able to use her as a foil to be amusing, but Ann is fairly irrelevant dancewise. She is an abrasive talker with a bit of humour.

1. Scott & Natalie
From the start of the series, this has been the couple I've looked forward to watching most every week, much the same as I was with Tom & Camilla and Austin & Erin.
They are fabulous to watch and there is emotion in their dances not just technique.
Full of elegance and class in their Ballroom with the fun shining out of their Latin.
I love the total faith Scott has in Natalie (well deserved) and her second-to-none choreography.

2. Kara & Artem
In the lead up to the competition, I thought they were going to be my favourites and certainly at least 2 of their dances have 'wowed' me but I feel their routines generally lack the emotion I feel with Scott & Natalie.
Very precise and well-executed routines though and certainly the best female celeb this year.

=3. Matt & Aliona and Gavin & Katya
Matt is the better dancer but Gavin appeals to me more personality-wise.
(This is a fairly recent revelaton, Gavin kept it well hidden for weeks and I never did like the boy-next-door type aka Matt)
I think Aliona needs to come back down into more conventional choreography for Matt to lose the 'acrobat' tag and Gavin needs to forget about any 'macho' mates watching as I feel he really loves the dancing but is too self-conscious. (a bit ironic given all the preening )

5.Pamela & James
Much as I like James, Pamela is too 'in-your-face' for me to feel comfortable. I appreciate that she can dance well for someone of her age but her look always reminds me of Mae West and I've never seen class or elegance in her Ballroom because of it.

I didn't give them a number because I always regarded them as the supporting act to the competition.
Much as I have laughed at some of their routines, their stint on the show is coming to its natural end.

1 Gavin. The only one to have had to start from scratch.
2. Matt Excellent dancer
3. Pamela Some great dances plus James has done a terrific job teaching her.
4. Kara Good dancer but doesn't grab me.
5. Scott Too much favouritism and isn't as good as Matt or Pamela. Or Kara.
6. Ann
I've little doubt about the ones who will get through and win, though.

1 Kara and atrem a beautiful and natural dancer who has exceeded my expectaitons and I think a really nice woman as well, also liking Artem as he does join in the its so fun brigade

2 Matt and Aliona An excellant graceful dancer but I think the wrong pairing with Aliona who is as mad as a box of frogs and lovely with it . I think she doesnt do classic choreography and he would beneft from this

3 equal Scott and Natalie and Pamela and James, both couples can dance really well but both Scott and pamel have their weakeness. Personality wise I cant take to Scott at all his cheeky chappy or deadna and I am so tired thing jars with me as does Pamela relentless fun, natialie irritates me as I find her as hard as diamonds and yet prone to talk in little girl voice . James I like but a times with Pamela I think he really grits his teeth as he isn't normally all abou tthe fun, fun fun.

5 gavin and katya: I really like them as a couple and I really like Gavin despite thinking I would really disliek him before the shoe . He is the one who makes me olaugh out loud on a regular basis and I think Katya is donig well with him. Having said that he is one of the worst dancers and so really ought not win though I wouldn't be that sorry to see him get to the finalas he IS trying to dance well and is disappinted not to be able to do so

6 Ann and Anton , not funny not a nice woman at all , rude arrogant, biggotted and wont learn to dance , Should have gone weeks ago and should not prgress through the vcompetion as it is disrespecting all those who are really putting in the effort

Matt - Very good dancer and likeable - only problem Aliona's choreography
Kara - Very good dancer - beautiful to watch
Gavin - Trying his hardest - enjoy watching him learn to dance

Kara: The perfect celebrity dancer. Flawless, for a celebrity that is.

Scott: Wonderful natural ability but unable to use it to his advantage when he doesn't feel the dance. A shame really but if he can get his head screwed on again and try to push through the obvious fatigue he's feeling, hopefully he'll get back to his best (which can be fabulous).

Matt: Not without talent but has not tapped into it in a real way yet. I say yet but maybe he has and his potential has been reached and what we're seeing is the best he can do, which in my view isn't enough.

Gavin: Not a dancer. At all. He's not the worst contestant we've ever seen but he just doesn't have it in him to dance and perform at a level I now expect at this stage of the competition.

Pamela: Can be beautiful in ballroom, not too fab at latin and I feel she's reached her peak and again, it's not really enough to lift the glitterball for me.

Ann: The worst contestant that Strictly has ever seen, not only because she's an atrocious dancer (if you can call everything she's done so far 'dancing') but because she hasn't ever been pushed to produce anything real. A disgrace.

YOu have saved me typing it up as I agree with your comments as Scott and Natalie are my favourites followed by Kara and Artum.

I do not agree with you about Ann though I am afraid you has never made me laugh after the launch show and I find her very arrogent!!

Pamela & James - My favourites in the competition from the start. I've loved all of their routines and Pamela still seems to be improving week by week. I'm in awe of how well the woman dances and how much energy she has, especially considering the fact that she turns 61 next week! I love the partnership between her & James - think they work really well together and have to credit James on some brilliant choreography. I think that he's been voted out of the competition too early several times before [eg Cherie Lunghi, Gabby Logan] and this series I'd love them to go all the way.

Matt and Aliona
Sometimes I really enjoy their routines, other times I'm not such a fan. But that's just my personal opinion. I don't think he's ever had a week where he's not danced well, it seems to come quite naturally and he also seems like a nice guy.
Think that they're real contenders to win this series, but for me, there's just something missing.

Kara and Artem
Kara's clearly a natural and I don't think she's ever done a bad dance. At the moment this would be the couple I would want to win if Pamela & James don't get through to the final. Some of her routines I think have been good, but others really have been standout performances.

Scott and Natalie
Majorly overrated in my honest opinion. Sometimes Scott dances really well, but other times the routines are a complete mess, last weekend being a great example, yet the majority of the judges seem to ignore the mistakes because they already think he's really good. Seems like a nice guy, but for me, not up to the standard of the others in the "Fab Four".

Ann and Anton
Clearly if this was purely a dance competition then Ann would have been out week one, but it's not, with the public voting it's always going to be majorly influenced by the entertainment factor and I have to admit that I do look forward to seeing what they're going to do each week. Hats off to Anton, he's had some great ideas for the comedy latin routines, and credit where credit's due, at least Ann has attempted basic [non-comedy] routines in some of the ballroom routines.

Gavin and Katya
I really don't know how he's still in the competition. A couple of his routines have been close to being good, but there's no consistency/steady improvement and I just don't really look forward to seeing their routines every week like I do with the others.

Will be interesting to see who is in the bottom 2 this week.

Matt and Kara are head and shoulders above the rest. He is starting to show the soul of a dancer, while she is fearless and just a gorgeous mover. Wouldn't mind either of them winning it, and may the better of them on the night just shade it. Matt still has the jive to overcome. If he can manage it, then he'll have the edge on Kara in my book. Matt's other problem is that he and Aliona are on the same wavelength, as he has specifically stated. This might not be a good thing if he can't tell her that the avant garde choreography and music choices are hurting them with the judges and perhaps with the public.

Whatever you think of her babble, Pamela's dancing is a credit to herself, her generation, and not least to James. If it's to be another year like last year, she's the one "personality dancer" who could hold up the glitter ball without me turning off the telly.

Scott is useless at Latin, and Saturday showed evidence that even his ballroom is going off as he is biting off more than he can chew, work-wise. Is he being overmarked because:
- you have to keep an Eastender in as long as possible for the sake of the ratings?
- the judges know his vote is no match for Widdy's, so they have to make up the difference?
- they think Natalie is such an asset to the standard of choreography and teaching that she must be kept on view?

Gavin has improved over the series, along with his attitude, but he seriously needs the "Gethin moment" to have any chance of going further next weekend, and I think he'd need another month to get to that stage. At least his girly vote seems to be solid.

Ann, a disgrace? You may well think so; I couldn't possibly comment.

In a VERY particular order!!

1. Matt and Aliona. From the very first moment clapping eyes this guy, who I hadn't remembered ever seeing before on telly (actually thought it was Matt Allwright when I saw the list!) and this girl, who didn't have the best of starts last year on her first Strictly, come out and dance their cha cha cha I was hooked! They completely surprised me. I did spend the first few weeks wondering if he'd be better off with Natalie or Flavia but I now absolutely love their partnership and Aliona's edgy choreography. I would love them to get to the final and for Aliona to do a Camilla and completely surprise and delight us. I love the way he moves, love the gymnastics and, sorry Len, but I so 'got' what they were doing in their AS and I'm just an ordinary girl!

ETA Thought their samba was awesome and loved their AT. Also, if the BBC are reading this could we have a warning if he it to ever come out in guyliner again please?! Apart from being able to spend time anticipating the thrill, some of us will need time to make sure we're surrounded by lots of cushions for when we fall........

2. Kara and Artem. Gosh, she's amazing. So supple and seems to do everything so effortlessly. My dancing Mini-Sulkette adores her and wants to be her! Despite loving Artem's dancing, I'm not loving this partnership so much. There's something that makes me a bit uncomfortable. Despite the height difference I would have loved to see her with Ian.......oh......hang on..........

3. Scott and Natalie. Their jive and quickstep were just jaw-droppingly awesome and Nat always seems to get the best frocks! They were up there with Kara but now he really has gone off the boil a bit. Someone give that bloke a vat of chicken soup and let's get him back to where he was. I think Natalie is a fabulous choreographer.

(A gap here as I think of the fab 3, not 4.)

4. Pamela and James. She's amazing for her age. And there's my problem. If Kara, Scott or Matt had done that charleston on Saturday they would have received 7s and 8s for it. It was lumpy and lacked content IMO. Her relationship with James is being rammed a bit too hard down our throats but I can't help warming to him.

5. Gavin and Katya. Sorry. I find him unwatchable. I just don't like him. Though I should add that I thought the judges were a tad hard on him on Saturday as I thought his jive was his best effort yet. He almost looks uncomfortable being there and he should be put out of his misery and sent back to his muddy field pronto.

6. Ann and Anton. Well, I'm laughing and shrieking at them - though I do think it's due to Anton who has pulled a blinder with all this. Should imagine he's put himself right up there for Brucie's job after his sterling efforts. Ann? Well, they asked and she accepted. Someone's spending a lot of money on the phone. Maybe they should put their cash to better use and buy her a bra?

The biggest problem I have is I see 4 worthy finalists and only 3 slots..

1. Matt - for me, he's been the best dancer, and I've been baffled by his marks compared to others - I think he has been (relatively) undermarked, given the 9/10 frenzy.

2. Kara - she's very good, and some of their routines have been fabulous (darling), BUT errors are going unpunished, and sometimes it's not quite as good as the judges seem to think

3=. Scott - when he's good (Jive, for example), he's bloody good. But when he's bad (Rumba, forgetting his routine), he still gets very high socres.

3=. Pamela - she's 62 you know! But she's not as good a dancer as the other 3 contenders. Her theatricality is amazing.

5. Gavin - mostly because he's not #6. Lucky to be there ahead of Stompy Patsy, but someone had to fall to the Widdinaught

6. Ann - Finally, Anton seems to have ditched the outright comedy schtick (there was some dancing in the last few weeks), and with G McK and Wagner leaving (apparently) perhaps SCD can also loose the 'comedy' candidate.

I'm having a hard time ranking them.

1. Kara
Consistent - I don't think she can do a bad dance. Good chemistry with Artem. The only thing I don't like is her shoulders for some reason but other than that, she's in a class of her own

Tied:
Matt: Has all the makings of a good dancer but is too clinical and not helped by Aliona's choreography which doesn't suit him. His movements and facial expressions look forced and it hampers my enjoyment A LOT.

Scott: Sparks of brilliance and then shocking mediocrity. When he's on the ball he's brilliant but when he's bad he's awful. He's wasting away and Natalie is wasted on him.

Pamela: She's got gumption but she's rough. She's unsteady and her posture does falter at times.

Gavin: He's an enigma. I like him. But his dancing is pants.

6th:
Ann: Her attitude stinks. Her dancing stinks.

Pretty much agree with everything you have said, but would just like to add that Pamela is grating on my nerves now, and I think that Aliona may have missed a trick with that AS.....a really classy routine there may have just given Matt that little extra boost to take him ahead of Scott and Kara (in my mind anyway....).

1) Kara & Artem - IMO they are streets ahead of the others, I'm hoping the public will see them crowned champions. For a newbie Artem has settled in well, regularly produces top notch routines & seems a really nice guy. I like their partnership & really couldn't give a foxtrot if they're an item off camera or not.

Now this is where it gets difficult

2) Matt & Aliona - Along with others, I feel Aliona is letting him down. Had he been paired with Natalie I feel we could be watching a completely different show. He's good, he looks like he has the ability, but she needs to stop trying to make a name for herself, and let her partner shine.

3) Scott & Natalie - I really like Natalie, I just think Scott has become judges pet. Yes he's tired, yes he's in a soap blah blah blah - just let your feet do the talking Scott. And I hope your Snowdonitis gets better soon.

4) Pamela & James - Now. I cannot be doing with all the psycho babble she spouts out, I don't even rate her but she's better than the other 2 I haven't got to yet. But seriously Pammie, James has got Ola at home - do you really think he means all this sexy stuff? Nope. You're just the partner who'll take him further than he's ever got in the competition before. Get over yourself, lift your feet, stop simpering & grinning like a ventriloquist's dummy. Your Charleston was clompy, not ever so funny and I couldn't wait for it to be over. Oh, and one outfit is fine, really!!!

Gavin & Katya - Meh about Gavin, he might be self conscious as his ex has said she watches avidly. I think I'd feel a bit weird if I knew my ex was watching me (!) I really can't take to Katya. I think she comes across as a bit of a cow who can't believe she's got this far with someone so wooden and shy.

Ann & Anton. Rude. The fact she refuses to dance/wear costumes/do standard steps infuriates me & must grate with the other contestants slogging their guts out actually trying to learn stuff. I really hope she's gone this weekend.

Kara & Artem
Loved her from day one, on and off the dancefloor. It's rare to come across someone with such (genuine) modesty, especially in show business!

Also love Artem's stylish choreography. Hoping they are back on a full training schedule this week as it was a little flat last week.

Matt & Aliona
Can't completely take to him personally, but I do appreciate that he can certainly move - and that there is room for improvement. Intrigued that people are interpreting their body language in such contrasting way - some people think they hate each other, others quite the opposite.

Last week's dance was a bit of a mess - but only relatively so as he is very good. I want Aliona to continue just doing her own thing with the routines - it's would be boring if they all did the same stuff.

Scott & Natalie
He's just not my type (sure he would gutted to know), so I can't say I've been a massive fan of his throughout the series, now it surprises me to find that I'm warming to him - and defending him even! Nines weren't justified, but there were parts of the American Smooth that were sublime - even though he was doing almost the whole routine completely wrong.

Not sure if that's more down to Natalie's amazing teaching skills or his natural ability.

Pamela & James
To be fair, it's Bruce that chisels in the Billy Connolly mention each week, not her. Also, it's great to see an "older lady contestant" not being given the "older lady contestant edit" and I applaud her for that - it's down to her energy and skill.

Otherwise, 'meh', I wouldn't be gutted if she went.

Gavin & Katya
Still waiting for his "Gethin moment", but not sure it will happen now. Love his sense of humour and occasional (average 20 seconds per routine) glimpses of genuinely good movement.

Actually, the ideal scenario would be for him to do a really good routine, Len to slag it off, Katya to go batsh*t crazy in response and Len admit defeat - have to love Katya.

Ann & Anton
I get that it's been entertaining and generally pretty good in terms of publicity, but please - joke's over now.

Please Anton - choreograph a proper ballroom routine with no gimmicks or stunts that she can attempt to perform (and maybe even manage a few steps pretty well), but will reflect what her actual dancing level is (i.e. Week 1 Paul Daniels).

Please don't rouse the phone voters to weep with tears of laughter at the sight of a pirouetting parrot, or capsized hot air balloon, or whatever witticisms the judges have lined up for next week.

Rate your favourite to least.

1 = Matt loads of potential but rarely error free, probably due to the difficulty of the routines. Strikes wonderful lines but still cannot shape his hands. Sells his routines and is a real crowd pleaser. Hampered by over complicated choreography.

1= Kara - Brave and daring lots of natural talent, complemented by Artem. Can sometimes seem a bit sterile but when she does give it all she is fantastic. Probably the most natural dancer of the celebs

3 - Pamela - Full of admiration for her but sometimes find her a bit heavy footed in the quicker routines. Personality shines through on the dance floor [irritating on the VT]- some routines suit her better than others.

4 - Scott - Wonderful ballroom technique but not so good out of hold. His latin leaves a lot to be desired. Did not like Natalie but have warmed to her this year. Don't like his attitude when he does not like a dance.

5 - Ann - New career in comedy beckons - well she tries[not]!

6 - Gavin - takes narcissism to a new level. If Katya wore a mirrored gown Gavin would have not problem keeping up with her.

Matt & Aliona - I love watching them dance. I think Matt has huge ability but I do wish Aliona would choreograph more to his strengths rather than shoehorn him into a style that she likes.

Kara & Artem - she's probably the best female celebrity over all the series I've watched (didn't watch scd 2 before people mention st jill of halfpenny), certainly the one I've most enjoyed.

Scott & Natalie - he'd had 2 brilliant dances but the rest have been a mit meh imho and I can't understand the judges adoration of him. He should be on his knees thanking god he has Natalie as his pro as her choreography is genius.

pamela and james - sneaking admiration for Pamelas abject refusal to behave as one would think someone her age should behave. Also enjoying James increasingly strained expression as he tries to cope with her. She can dance and throws herself into it which I do like.

gavin and Katya - ah katya, I would love to see what she could do with someone who was actually good. Loving Gav but he can't dance really though he does try

BoD - the TV goes off the moment she appears so I can't comment

Kara - a beautiful dancer all round, possibly the best ever on Strictly
Scott - Marvellous but in danger of losing it. Looked exhausted to the point of illness on Sat.
Matt - Great dancer, lovely chemistry with Aliona
Pamela - Doesnt do it for me. Rather ungainly and messy. Uncomfortable to watch in Latin
Gavin - Fun to watch, the most improved.
Ann - Has been very amusing but I will be far from amused if she progresses much further.

Kara - she was great at the start and has been getting better - certainly the most consistent performer. Would like to see her step up just another gear to be excellent

Matt - for me he has come on the most - his rate of improvement by far the highest, perhaps let down by some strange choreography. I really think he has all the technique and performance skills to win this with normal choreography. By all means take a few risks but don't go too far Aliona!

Scott - potentially the best dancer. When he gets it right he is fantastic - but you have to be able to deliver on the night to win it.

Pamela - the most surprising. She is way better than I thought she would be but she hasn't improved as much and now is performing below my expectations whereas at the start she was above them.

Gavin - I so want Gavin to do well, I really do - he very nearly broke through one week but now he is back to mediocre. I suspect that he will be out this week if he doesn't pull something out of the bag.

Ann - I totally admire Anton's ability to create a spectacle which is entertaining for us and that Ann agrees to do. I suspect it is his most challenging Strictly ever. I started by admiring Ann for participating and giving it a go. Now I hate the fact she won't even try to do some things. I suspect she will outlast Gavin if he poor again but I hope she goes leaving Pamela, Kara, Matt and Scott as the last 4 - they really deserve it.

I don't think any of the ones gone so far had a chance of winning so I don't mind Ann being still in. So long as she isn't in the top 4! I think it is fine to have a very different performance each week - it's been great entertainment.

= 1st Kara & Artem Wasn't too sure to start with, but these two never fail to deliver a routine full of action and skill.

= 1st Pamela & James From the start there was some extra ingredient in their entertaining routines. Not always perfect but always trying.

3rd Matt & Aliona A gimmick too far at times, when he is such a good dancer we need to see dancing not gimmicks (even the routines miss the point too often). Hands getting better (very distracting at one point)

4th Scott & Natalie Never quite clicked with Scott and whilst he is good at ballroom and when the routine is practised properly, the core ability seems to be missing.


10th Gavin & Katya Should have gone weeks ago. Never managed to get beyond the basic ballroom dances and engage with the audience.



14th Ann & Anton Too many people have bought into this BBC scam. Shame. Even Paul danced better.

Matt tries incredibly hard and I can see he has a great deal of talent, but something isn't quite right and I think it's Aliona? Don't know why I find it hard to take to her and it's spoiling my enjoyment of Matt's dancing! All Matt needs to do is to be exceptionally brilliant to overcome the Aliona defect. Looking forward to his jive and wish well.

Kara I think it was about three weeks ago when the magic SCD fairy clicked her fingers and turned Kara into a fabulously artistic and beautiful dancer. She was good before that and is equally good with both sides of dancinf. Potential winner if she keeps up her current standard

Pamela I like Pamela..... Yet I find her irritating and it's ruining my enjoyment of her dancing. This is silly because it's a dance show? Or is it? Ann and those other 'pantomime' acts have ensured it's no longer about dancing and whoever wins needs to have winning personality to match their winning dancing and being on a journey helps too. There is no doubt that Pam is a fantastic dancer, not just for her age, but for any person attempting such a high standard of dance. Pamela and James could win. Will they win? Very possibly.

Scott was my favourite from day one. I have a little soft spot for him because of that twinkle in his eye. Now that twinkle is in his step and he's a worthy member of the fabulous top 4. He needs to balance his work or he'll be out next... Oh and improve his Latin because that's really awful.

Gavin has shown more improvement than most and he was starting to truly impress me until he jived his way to the bottom two. Needs to continue being less self conscious or will unfortunately be out next week.

Ann used to be entertaining; but I said a couple of days ago that she's like that joke that started out as hilarious and is now boring. Not one titter from me with that horrific Titanic as there was not one recognisable dance step? Time for her to go.
