It seems full of padding and a lot of waiting around.... http://wp.me/p124B5-17f

Yup. I find it really lack lustre too. Splitting the announcements also doesnt help to build up a dramatic tension either.

If we are to have the results show on a Sunday, then the format that they used the last time was a lot better than this years format.

I'm sure there are some people that like the new formats for both the shows broadcast on Saturday and Sunday night. But quite frankly I think its rubbish!

Yes, I still think it's terrible. I always check the results on here anyway, so don't know if the tension would be there for me if I didn't know. It's just all a bit bitty, and messy.

It really doesn't work this year. Strange.

Totally agree that both Saturday and Sunday formats are dire.

The new executive producer has a lot to answer for in the demise of this show.

Unfortunately as it is all about viewing numbers she probably sits in board meetings being congratulated.

The show has lost many genuine fans, and I don't know if it will ever recover.

I agree, the splittimng of the eliminations kills the tension rather than heightening it - but somehow it is getting more viewers than any previous year's results show.
Even stranger.

Perhaps we are all just out of step with public opinion.

I think the audience had "had enough" by the time they got round to the "results show."

Any audience that had to (as was reported) listen to James Blunt sing the same rubbish song five times, has my sympathy.

I did not even sit down to watch the results show last night, I just had it on my computer screen whilst I tidied my room!

Watched the first results show and haven't bothered since. It is dire.

It's almost like an afterthought, with very little thought put into it in the 1st place.

The results show is "flat" because there is very little action that occurs during the show.

I still miss the dance-off But I honestly would rather watch them dance again.
The 'tension' feels diluted. It doesn't make my heart go boomboomboom anymore.
Don't really enjoy anything apart from pro-dances in the results show. And they're looking a bit dodgy lately too

I used to love the pro-dances, but I have found the majority of them to be dull this series. Las night, I just fast forwarded to the elimination parts of the show and then switched it off.

As Craig RH would say

It is... D.U. double ell. DULL

I'm fed up of the guests that they have had on the show this year, there's been a real motley assortment and some of the time we don't even get a pro dance to divert our attention away from the terrible singing....a word of warning Michael Ball has a new album out so no doubt he will be on the show to plug it!
I don't really like the Tess/Claudia combo either!

I also read the "spoiler" thread, so the results show is a bit pointless for me anyway.
Even if I didn't, the results show would have little appeal..just knowing it was recorded 24 hours earlier takes away any "magic". Coming back "live" on Saturday night would be so much better.

There is no reason for it's existence since they abolished the dance off. It's a pointless attempt to spread the brand to two nights.

I agree with all of the above, it is flat and doesn't work without the dance off. Naming the bottom two in stages doesn't work either, better to do it like before.

Of course when you know who has been eliminated anyway from the spoiler it makes the whole excercise more pointless. Be interesting to know the viewing figures .

Indeed... It would also help with getting in more voting revenue IMO.

With the results show being on a Sunday the problem is that a lot of people record the Saturday night show and watch it on Sunday before the results show. This means that they are unable to vote because the voting has been closed.

When I really used to enjoy SCD, Saturday nights were arranged around it. My friends and I would get together to watch the show, (vote) pop out to the pub and for food and return for the results show and have a post mortem of the show afterwards.

There is also such a small window of time for the votes to be cast, that the many that begin to watch it after it has started due to nearly everyone having PVR's, the voting lines have closed.

It's turning more into a childrens programme with it being on so early, and I'm guessing its the little kiddies that like to see granny being thrown across the dancefloor and asking their parents to vote for AW.

What a crying shame that so many people who really enjoyed the dancing appear to be turning off completely, or just not getting into it at all

Much as I love Ola and normally love her dancing and outfits , it really looked like James was dancing with a snake last night .I was a little grossed out by it actually .

Loved that comment, made me laugh out loud. Not so good with Christmas coming up..all the grannies had better beware after they've pulled the crackers and finished their pud.

The show is certainly lacking some kind of va voom..........I record it a fast forward through to the dance.then fast forward through to the score......then I check the spoiler on here.

Pro dances are dire........the women have replaced talent with pole dancing and camera angles which are abit dodgy and show lots of womens underwear....duhhhhhh.

Soon it will be aiming for the top of the shelf crew............
