I have never seen her wear any light colours

Surely she has more clothes than the ones she keeps wearing.

Because she's fat and black makes you look thinner and hides your lumps presumably

Quite bluntly - because she would look much bigger in other clothes

I think she looks quite good on the shows now - well done to those that did the makeover

It's slimming. She's actually quite big in real life but she only looks a size 10 on the tellybox. It's magic*!

The stylists have decided what suits her- the gave her a makeover remember

I agree she should wear something bright- next week will probably be her last so she should just rock a coloured dress and sing whatever the hell she wants

Is it an Amstrad?

Why was she on stage for her sing off like she'd just fallen out of bed?

I've got a light blue 6 berth tent they can have to run up an outfit for her.

Oh I see, I didn't realise - sorry.

She must be bored always wearing dark clothes though, why doesn't she just lose weight instead if that's the reason?

Out of all the contestants Mary's makeover has been the best but that's probably because they actually had to be practical with her look.

Okay I feel bad now

Why does she have arthritis? because of the overweight thing?

Chicken and egg thing isn't it. Being overweight doesn't help arthritis but arthritis doesn't make it easy to burn off what you consume so you have to consume less and possibly less than is comfortable or makes you feel like you are starving to death.

Some of the medicines might make weight loss more difficult too. Steroids for example. And doughnuts. Definitely doughnuts.

One of my naeighbours looks a bit like Mary although actually even bigger!!

I kow what you mean about conditions and them eating less thatn they should.

This woman apparantley never ate anything but was really mahoosive and it always puzzled us - she had an overactive thyroid gland.

If she had an over active thyroid she'd be thin.

Raid the house for doughnuts. Never eats a thing is just not true news.

Actually I disagree. I was only saying to hubby last night whoever was styling her obviously had no understanding of the larger woman. When all else fails shove her in black. With her hair down she looks 15 years younger than some of the awful 'updo's' they've given her, the top they gave her on Saturday night clung dreadfully to her belly.

Basically she's been shoved in high street size 20's in black where as if they'd taken the trouble Marina Rinaldi, Anna Scholz do some really on trend stuff in fabulous fabrics and colours.

lol sorry - underactive then.

Does Mary have any say in her styling?

I mean what colour is her Tesco's uniform, they're usually blue I think and I wonder if she always wears black in real life.

Ahem

Seriously, I think shifting weight for her will be difficult. She has arthritis and a sedentary job. Who knows what came first but it's a vicious circle now.

It might be a viscious circle - I can understand your point but I always think that unless you have a medical condition then it isnt rocket science how to lose weight.

But she does have a medical condition so she can't do

Eat < Exercise so unless she is prepared to feel hungry, I'd guess currently she Eat > Exercise or at least Eat = Exercise.

= no weight loss.

Actually I agree with you - I meant her hair and make up (excluding the tight up dos)

She's less noticeable when travelling to and from the show on her broomstick.
