Also noticed the move debate. I think they will have to be either in London or pretty close to it for work. Especially if Josie wants to do presenting. My late in-laws used to live in Theydon Bois. It was on the Central Line near Epping Forest and if I remember correctly didn't take more than an hour to get to Central London - probably less. It certainly was a pretty place.”
The problem with choosing where to live is the cost of housing in London. If they want a bigger house/ garden they may have to go quite a long way out to get something reasonable.
If I was them id avoid tube lines as they take so long and therefore go for somewhere with a main line station, that most of the fast trains stop at, so on the eastern line, thats places like Brentwood, chelmsford, colchester, or near the main roads in like the m11, or even make sure that they are close enough to the airport to jet around.
We are fairly close to stansted for instance, but the planes that leave from there are all ryan air, so if you want to go with another carrier and avoid feeling like a sardine, it can take hours to get to the airport.!!!
Maybe we can compile and sent them an advice guide of best places to live, in and about London. As a child I used to live in Potters Bar, and that is a good central place to live, with good links to the north, a main line train station into Kings cross (15 to 20 minutes) and just on the M25.and it is still on the edges of the green belt so the countryside is close by. But I have a feeling that it is very expensive to live there now.
