Do you think the X Factor will still be on TV in five years time?
It's becoming more and more popular, but in a sense it is coinciding with a growing "so bad it's good" feeling and that it's manipulated and over produced more and more each year. What goes up, must come down and all of that. Much like with Big Brother do you think that the X Factor will begin its slide into oblivion over the next few years?

No it won't be. There might be something similar with different people but it won't be the X Factor. Same with BGT too.

If the ratings hold up until then, which I really think they will, then yes it'll be on in 5 years time. |

If it isn't on next year it will just be pushed back until early 2012.

It needs some reinvention for next year, but Simon is pretty good at keeping his shows fresh.
There needs to be new blood on the panel, and having judges mentor an act from each category would be a good start. |

5 years is a long time on TV. The taste of the public may change. It will become more of a soap, a freak show and if the don't renew the jury as well a botox show. Nice!

No I do not think it will be around in 5 years, 3 more is more than enough. And as has been said this show needs a re-think and re-vamp it is tired, boring and annoying this year, so much manipulation, rubbish press stories, contestants bought out of record contracts and kept in week after week, putting in a joke act then two of the judges not even judging him, why bother being there.
Shame Wagner went out this week, at least he made me smile! |
