Do you think they should be able to wear non traditional clothing for dances?

e.g. in that Car advert where they do the Argentine Tango wearing combats and vests?

Is that a car advert?

Love it. Not sure about the costumes for Strictly (thinks Felicity and Pamela) but I love the whole feel of this.

The AT in that video is one of the best I've ever seen - who cares what they're wearing, it's not on a dance show or competition..........

Soz I meant, do you think the competitors should be allowed to wear stuff like that?

My ideal costume for Widdy would be an enormous sack ( or have they used that idea already?).

I still associate the jive with leather jackets and jeans from my rock'n'roll club days, so as long as it's in context I'd rather see appropriate clothing than all the props. After all, the latin costumes are hardly 'traditional' - more like sequinned bikinis as far as the ladies are concerned and they certainly don't bother me (at least not in the way I think you meant!).

THANK YOU!!!

I saw that advert the other day, and loved it. I've watched it again several times now, and the making of it (both parts).

That has got to be THE sexiest Argentine Tango I've ever seen. Brilliant.

Haha OP I thought you were ACTUALLY referring to the costumes that they have actually been wearing this series until I read the rest of your comment.. with the dreadful 'tart themed tat' that has been the theme this year it would have indeed been lovely to see some traditional costumes.

I would like to second this.

It would be nice to see more class and less bikinis with tassels. The costumes this year have been horrible.

I agree. When you look at the dresses for rachel and Lisa (except the baco foil one), the standard has gone down.

I think the budget for material must have been cut....pardon the pun, so they are making do with a barely there theme for some of the costumes!
Perhaps they should cut the budget for fake tan and put more clothes on. Erin used to have beautiful costumes but she has got as bad as the rest!

The boy's clothes as well have been awful ! They used to wear plain black trousers and a colourful shirt to match their girl's outfit for latin dances, but this year they've had the weirdest costumes, almost bordering on fancy dress.
