Favourite winter tipple
What do you like to drink over winter?
I love ginger wine. It's especially nice with honey and hot water. |

Things that I tend to drink at christmas and new year but not at other times are advocat/snowball and baileys or cheap irish whiskey cream. You can get bottles from supermarkets for less than a fiver.
They make a good white russian. |

Don`t know why but for us it`s always schloer at Christmas, I don`t drink alcohol so that seems to be the drink of choice
plus they always seem to be a BOGOF deal.

DEFINITELY ginger wine for me too. My mother always drank it on Christmas eve, and I remember tasting little sips as a child and hating it. But then gradually over the years I came to love it, can't live without it now. Crabbies is the best, but Stones and Sainsbury's own are pretty good too. I also love it with a couple of big glugs added to lemon tea.

It wasn't what would be considered good parenting today but I remember in the winter of '63 my mum would give me a couple of sips of Stones ginger wine when I came home from school and warm my hands under her armpits.

Mine is a sweet and strong tea with a generous splash of dark rum. No milk please.

Starbucks Gingerbread Lattes. It's got to the point where I can't go into town and not want one.

She's the only one I know who drinks it. A bit too sweet for me, but mixed with OJ it's nice. Sometimes she switches to bessenjenever, Dutch gin with black berry juice. Also nice with OJ or very cold on the rocks. |

Baileys always reminds me of Christmas as it was Christmas when I first had some mixed with milk (I was probably 12-13ish). So have it quite often at Christmas now.
Last few years I have bought a bottle of sourz to mix with lemonade for a longer drink too/ I don't drink that often though. Maybe a couple on Christmas day and a glass of wine with lunch. |

Sherry and Bailey's are my 'Christmas' tipples - never drink them any other time of year!
