Poor girl can't win whatever she says.
I understood her explanation.

I just wished Claudia had asked Alesha to explain giving Scott a higher mark than Matt - which she didn't really do. Did she really think Scott stumbling about and being shoved around by Natalie was better than Matt's relatively error free dance?

Yes, she may not have liked the dance (but that's a choreography issue) but she cannot deny that Matt danced it well.

I saw a bit of a bitchy side to Alesha on Saturday when she was talking about Matt and I didn't like it. She was disappointed? So were we!

Oh I imagine after all this crossfire, we'll be lucky to see higher than an 8 or 9 from her this Saturday.

I'm unaware if this can be answered by the maths whizzes, but my biggest gripe is not that Scott should have been out as a result, but had Alesha and Bruno scored an 8 max, Patsy would have had an extra point in judges' rankings and it may well have been Gavin going home instead.

So to everyone who claims we're nit-picking, well we're not as something as "small" as an 8 instead of a "9" might have altered the results of the show entirely. Patsy would never have won, but I do find her more watchable than the Welsh, wooden wonder-tan.

The worst thing to me about Alesha tonight was the casual way she tried to dismiss the whole incident as of no real importance. I'm sure she would have been devastated if she had been the victim of such manipulation when she was a contestant. Shame on you Alesha.
absolutely!
I just felt like shouting, stop laughing!
How would you like this done to you!
Stop laughing!
One of the things Alesha said was (paraphrasing) that she knows the Judges were 'kind' to her in their marking on occasion, and that she 'blagged' it a lot of the time.

Not so. Think back to John and Nicole's Foxtrot in Series 5.

Craig came on ITT, held his hands up and admitted he had undermarked with a "4", got it wrong and had apologised to both John and Nicole backstage on ITT.

Alesha just "glossed" over it so quickly and made a joke about it. No talk of how it can be hard to see mistakes when you're in the studio and on watching it back they were there, she got it wrong and regretted it... And apologised for a genuine mistake.

And as Craig said (when she finally shut up and let him talk) was that she covered her mistakes very well, so well the judges were not aware they were not choreographed parts of a routine. No one could believe her Paso had had mistakes until Claudia asked her to explain on ITT and even then everyone, including judges said they never woul have guessed.

Scott visibly tripped, looked lost, was man-handled into position by Natalie more than once and NEARLY dropped her in the big lift. It was obvious to even an untrained dancer or judge he screwed it up big time.

Personally her comments reflected that she too HAD seen all the mistakes so she can't say she missed them, she just chose to ignore them full stop with her marking.

Well, that covered his back nicely

In passing, although I agree with the rest of the faults, I don't think he nearly dropped her.

You have to remember that on ITT, they were seeing it from a different angle - the one that the viewers see - and some things will become more apparent, others not so.

Whether you like Gavin or not, he is more popular with the public than Patsy, Pamela or Kara - so the only way Patsy could have stayed was if she'd aced her AT ... which she didn't. Even if she and Gavin had tied in the combined public and judges' voting, she would have gone, because the most popular with the public wins out.

I too feel that sometimes Alesha's comments come across as being too personal. Generally she is supportive of the celebrities regardless of how well they have danced but when she takes against someone she can seem quite nasty. Remember Craig Kelly last year in Blackpool? Ok, he was dreadful, but she was just rude and mean. At least with Craig it is all about the dancing and he doesn't single out anyone in particular to be on the receiving end of his barbed comments.

Yes, that was the moment when I completely changed my opinion about Alesha. Still, as they say, beauty is only skin deep. She was particularly vindictive towards Craig, it appeared personal, like she hated the guy. Unless something happened behind the scenes that has been kept very quiet, it was totally unprofessional.

The other judges have also been slated for their erratic (to put it mildly) marking on Saturday. Alesha is being singled out here because she is the one who appeared on ITT last night and made a bad job worse by her inane comments, and by treating it all as a bit of a joke.
Come on! ITT is supposed to be a fun show - how serious did you expect her to be? Craig was also being jovial and l even heard him refer to Matt's dance as manic yet Alesha is still getting most of the heat for that statement!

What l got from Alesha was that she enjoyed Scott's dance more even with his mistakes than Matt's and although in hindsight Scott probably deserved an 8 she was impressed with the way he continued considering how tired he was so she probably gave him an extra mark for that reason. Not ideal but not a crime against judging either!

They all have moments when they get carried away even Craig! He can explain until the cows come home he'll never convince me Matt D'anglo deserved a 10 for his Waltz conveniently the week after he forgot both his routines!

Digital Spy has addressed this issue directly in the news feed.

Quoting Alesha directly actually makes my paraphrasing "kind" by comparison.

For a judge to be so blatant, well, she's just scored a bit of an own-goal there.

Being kind to balance out another judge who was quite within his rights to crucify Scott. Maybe Ann's Rumba deserved a 10 to "balance" Craig's "1" then...

Bottom line, Craig doesn't have an issue judging each dance ON THE DANCE in question. If someone's performed an awful dance, Craig will quite rightly score them low even if he's awarded them a high mark in a previous week. The other 3 are far more likely to still score highly but drop 1 or 2 to "cushion" the fall which is clearly wrong.

Len has been doing exactly what Alesha did on Saturday for weeks. So how come when she does it once there's hysteria and when he does it constantly, nobody says anything ...?

I've read plenty of threads questioning Len's scoring in the past - and I've joined in.

This week though, he was probably the fairest judge.

Agree Len and Craig were both fair this week - Alesha and Bruno were all over the place with their scores!
