Mobile broadband from 3 - upgrade

I have been with 3 for my mobile and my mobile broadband for a while now. I got a letter a month or 2 ago offering me the new model mi-fi free if I took a new 2year contract on my mobile broadband.
Atm I am on 5gb tariff which I am paying £7.50 a month for, this includes a discount for also being a contract phone customer with 3. I could now do with a higher data allowance, say 10gb or 15gb, as I am planning to buy an Ipad, and want to be able to use some video streamed using air video.

My question is: if I were to phone up CS and be prepared to enter a new 2 year mobile broadband contract, is there any possibility that I might get a deal on the 15gb plan that is less than the regular £15 a month? Are there any deals currently on mobile broadband for contract phone customers?

Secondly, I am assuming I can just use a sim card cutter on my current sim to use it in the Ipad. The deal I have is better than their Ipad data deals, but I could just do with a bit more data. Is there any reason why I can't use my current broadband sim in the Ipad?
I appreciate any advice.

No, I cut down a Virgin Mobile sim for use in an iPad and it worked just fine. There is no need to be on a special tariff.

As for the other questions, I doubt others here will know I think you'll need to just ask 3 as they will be able to tell you.
