Of all the events that have taken place in this years scd, do you reckon that after just one season that Moira Ross should be sacked as exec. producer of scd?

What changes has she made?

The new stage and set?
Its fine, no problem.

The Dance-off
I prefer the dance -off but don't care too much.

The Sunday NIght "Show"
Don't like it, its pretty empty, even with a guest.

also:
I think the judges should not be aware of the other judges scores.
Alesha admitting she marked Scott high to counter Criag's low score, means she effectively is controlling two scores.
Her own and also Craig's. (how dare she!!)
The voting should be not discussed or shared beforehand.

.. and another presenter to replace the Android Tess would be great.

Getting rid of Tess would be brilliant, I have to say.

Also too many close-ups on dances like AT, where you really want to see their feet!

Sacked half the dancers
Utterly Pointless

Hired a dance troupe that never performs
Waste of license payers money

What "events" is the OP referring to?

I doubt it can be the rise in ratings to 11 million viewers.

The only event that I can imagine it to be is three of the judges taking leave of their senses this weekend, but that's hardly the executive producers fault.

Things she has done:-

1. Bringing in the props too much
2. Allowing too many lifts
3. Not leaving the Argentine Tango until the end
4. Not having group dances with the pros and celebs
5. Terrible results show full of padding
6. Too many stupid VTs especially in ITT

That enough?

The one good thing is moving the show not to clash with X-Factor which is the main reason for the rise in the ratings. I am discounting the AW factor.

The Judges WILL be following some pretty firm guidance from the Exec Producer!! ALL these shows are micro-managed.

Re the Viewing figures - I suggestt that the only reason that they are up is because there is no longer a clash with Chav Factor

Increased ratings, press coverage and media buzz.

I'd say she'll stay for a while.

Just popped in from the Ali & Brian thread to say yes to all of the above & getting rid of five excellent pro dancers - Brian, Darren, Lilia, Matt & Ian for the sake of a 'dance troupe' that we've seen around three times in the whole series. Sadly she will stay I think

For me, items 1,2 and 3 are a good thing. The dances this year are by far the best dances of any series.

I agree with the the no group dance, if time is a factor then cut down on the waffling by the old bloke between the dances.

There was a time SCD took on X Factor head to head, and won. It needed to change if it was going to remain in the schedules.

If that means having to put up with watching an iceberg being pushed around the dance floor then I am willing to put up with that so that I get to see the stunning dances that professionals, in particular Aliona and Atrem, are putting together this year.

Yeah.

Because producers who add 2 million viewers to their show's audience are famously sacked for incompetence.

Good bleedin' grief.

Succinct and to the point.

But she didn't do that. It was the schedulers who moved Strictly so as not to clash with X-Factor this year.

This is just your opinion.

I agree there have been a few great routines this series, but there has also been, in my opinion, an over use of props, gimmicks and lifts(which Len only decided half way through the series were not allowed), frequently disguising poor dancing. Judges are often not commenting on footwork etc to encourage improvement.

The previous 7 series have produced some brilliant routines which I could watch over and over again without getting bored, without all the gimmickry which has been deemed necessary this year.

Well one thing she did was get a better group of celebs this year than there's been for a while. The only show of the whole series that I didn't enjoy was last week's so I reckon she should stay.

YES! Stuffing Darren and Lilia in a dance troupe.. STUPIDEST idea ever.

Firstly, of course you can prove this with mountains of evidence?

Secondly, results are results; 2 million is 2 million, it doesn't matter how it was achieved.

Finally, my main point is that the show has achieved massive ratings improvements with Moira Ross at the helm.

Anyone who thinks she'll be sacked for that is, frankly, not playing with a full deck.

Sorry but thats what you want to think, not the actual reality though.

In 2008 there was no clashes and at this point in 2009 there was barely any clashes at all. The show has added 2-3m viewers on both years.

For weeks its been getting higher ratings than last years final. Which had no X factor near it.
