Sorry but thats what you want to think, not the actual reality though.

In 2008 there was no clashes and at this point in 2009 there was barely any clashes at all. The show has added 2-3m viewers on both years.

For weeks its been getting higher ratings than last years final. Which had no X factor near it.
Stop confusing people with Evil Facts, OK?

I think last year was generally lacklustre - and too too long!! People couldn't engage with (m)any of the slebs.

Firstly, of course you can prove this with mountains of evidence?

Secondly, results are results; 2 million is 2 million, it doesn't matter how it was achieved.

Finally, my main point is that the show has achieved massive ratings improvements with Moira Ross at the helm.

Anyone who thinks she'll be sacked for that is, frankly, not playing with a full deck.
Agree 100%. She isn't going anywhere.

Of all the events that have taken place in this years scd, do you reckon that after just one season that Moira Ross should be sacked as exec. producer of scd?
She absolutely should, this is the worst series I've seen of strictly & I've watched it from the beginning! I've found it boring, lacklustre with two many gimmicks! Why in previous years has it been about the dancing & now it's about the entertainment?
I certainly won't be voting this year! I think the judges have been influenced in what they say & the outcome is a foregone conclusion & I don't like it one bit!!!!!

Did you read the bit about an extra 2 million viewers?

She just behaves like an african dictator, telling people what to do all the time. Also she has had a major effect on the presenters and judges. SCD needs better than this woman who is just a bossyboots.

But she has manipulated that and I'd like it 1 day if they could freshen up more and get some people who are associated with scd who are not overpaid and who are genuinely commited to their jobs.

Well yes, of course. That's her job. To get high viewing figures.

Errr....

I fail to see the relevance to the point about Ms. Ross...

I don't think the viewers are her main concern, ratings and revenue are obviously important to her. She made a big mistake signing Ann Widdecombe for this series and that shows that she isn't fit for purpose.

I don't see any reason why she should be sacked.

She doesn't have a clue with what the viewer wants, as far as I'm concerned she may as well run her own private business as she seems dissinterested with what we actually want.

Only in it for pocket money methinks.

^^^^^^ I also forgot to mention TerryM22 that she is the knight who has schemed and plotted to keep Anne Widdecombe in, not funny anymore and getting beyond a joke.

I agree. If she is responsible for Ann's presence in the show, then she should be sacked. And blacklisted.

Re the 2 million extra viewers -- the subject of the thread is whether she should be sacked, not whether she would be.

But I thought Ann had been asked to take part in the show for the last 6 years......? So you can hardly blame Moira Ross as you say yourself she's only been in charge for one season.

Moira Ross has not got a clue about what she is doing, the only reason the viewing figures have risen are because the show is no longer pitched against the X Factor which has a different audience.

The dance troupe that she introduced has been embarrasing to say the least - no more than 3 appearances so far this series and are only used when they can't get a artist to do the results show.

The use of props and gimmicks has gone too far, it is a dance show and that seems to have been forgotten, the judges apart from Craig all seem to be dancing to her tune.

If anyone goes against her - they loose their jobs, simple as that.

Yes she should.

Reasons? Consigning some of the best dancers to a lack lustre dance troupe, forcing Brian Fortuna to walk and consequently dissolving the magical dance partnership of Brian and Kristina for starters

The there are the props, the illegal lifts, the judges' "bizzare" (that is a euphemism for something else) voting behaviours with certain celebrities, and the elimination process, including the "we all know it was filmed on Saturday but because Tess changes her frock and people say 'last night' the audience will believe it's live on Sunday" results show

The only positive change has been the set

The only reason the viewing figures have gone up is because it is no longer up against X Factor as it has been in previous years, the viewing figures are therefore not relevant! It is now on at a time when there is nothing else to watch which is the only reason a lot of people tune in!

Completly agree with you Maz but just to add it is no longer a dance show that we all loved but a comedy show surely a time and place for everything

I agree with everything you have said Maz, I won't be voting either, also IMO there doesn't seem to be the same happy vibe with the show! So sad to see it go down this road.

Yes I agree. They could've rivalled Britain's Got Talent with a different show if they'd used they're heads rather than twist and contort this one to fit their idea of 'something for everyone.' There is a time and a place and I would welcome, most enthusiastically, a new Saturday night Variety Show with celebs/well-known persons strutting their stuff to get votes for a prize trophy. But they shouldn't be (worthy of) using the Strictly dancefloor for laughs/quest for celebrity status

The biggest cheers used to be for an amazing spectacle of dance - now it's for the one who's acting the biggest buffoon. Booo to that.

So if M.Ross is responsible sack her.
If not, sack her anyway They sack people of worth don't they??
They sack people well-qualified and able for the job so even if she is worthy of the job and not responsible for bringing Strictly down in the quality stakes... aww tough
Sack her anyway.

Maybe I'm wrong but I feel theres more than Moira Ross to blame. I too have watched from the very first and I think (for me) this is definately the worst series.
I hate the props and feel that most of the dances are showdances .
The judges especially Len have lost their credibility, Len has accepted things this year that he would not have done in previous years. It was evident from the start that dance had been taken out of his critque and entertainment became the buzz word ,
The dance troupe is a big failure but I suppose it has allowed Ian and Darren to stay in the mix of the BBC.
Dont blame Ann at all as I believe everyone knew what she was about and although I like a different couple I do hope she wins just to prove that they managed to take dance out of a dance competition.
What about all those who took up dance because of Strictly , will they now be looking to dance entertainment classes .!
I have watched the pros recently and I think we can see that they no longer appreciate Ann still being there.
Anyhow Strictly now is what it is and its obvious its not going to go back to what I orininally loved about it. I suppose the ratings is how Moira Ross gets paid.
