So my question still stands - is the "Teleshopping" given by Ray Cathode really JCM Direct? Or has that now disappeared and just been replaced with generic teleshopping?”

Its still JCM Direct been shown although the EPG has labeled it teleshopping but lets face thats what it is anyway.

They have replaced lost hours with more teleshopping.

Yes, and guess what teleshopping is on 5* between 9am and 1pm - it is only Gems TV.

This means Gems TV on Freeview at this time:-
01:00 - 11:00 LCN 43
09:00 - 13:00 LCN 30
18:00 - 03:00 LCN 32

So therefore we have spare time not to watch Gems TV continuously between 13:00 to 18:00

Gems TV is also on stv from midnight - 1am six nights a week. They will either go bust or take over TV jewellery.

The Freeview EPG is showing that Create & Craft ends at 10pm from tomorrow (Thursday) so it can be assumed that it has taken the Food Network slot. I'd guess that was post DSO only with pre DSO remaining as it is now. Food Network is going 24 hour on a different stream, also post DSO only.

So will food network not be on freeview on Thursday as it does not go 24/7 till Friday.

Wait & see. I imagine most changes will occur tomorrow. I was really commenting on the EPG which is showing Create & Craft extending its hours right now but obviously you can see it is off air.

We'll find out soon enough! My 7-day EPG still only has Food Network on 6-10pm for the next week anyway.

Same for me.It might be a EPG mistake in London or the rest of the uk has not been updated yet.The freeview EPG has been wrong in the pass.

Wait & see lol your the one that posted it in The Freeview Changelog,

It's surprising that there's no change in either the Food Network or Big Deal Freeview EPGs. I would have expected them to change if they were staying on their existing muxes. An explanation might be that Food Network is going to Arq B and replacing Big Deal as I originally thought. No guarantees though.

The EPG has CHANGED. You are sounding more like michael21 every day.

Could someone else in the London region confirm the changes I've reported to the Create & Craft Freeview EPG? It hasn't reached the nether regions yet apparently. I'm on the Guildford transmitter tonight.

Sutton Coldfield EPG now says 6am-10pm. Must have changed fairly recently, although I've been offline for a while this evening as a thunderstorm got a little too close for comfort...

What are the audio parameters on C&C? Voices sound wobbly.

128kbps joint stereo like all the rest. C&C may be playing out a dodgy recording?

Possibly, the problem seems to be intermittent. Thanks for checking.

Edit: Just heard the end of hour music - definitely a dodgy tape. Old school!

A bit off-topic, but is Food Network broadcast at 544x576 on Freeview or 720x576? If it is broadcast at 544x576, do ALL the channels on the COM multiplexes broadcast at 544x576?

All channels on the COM muxes are 544x576.

Same goes for E4, More4, Channel 4 +1, BBC Parliament, 301 and presumably 302 when it starts.

Film4 was the last to hold out until the twelfth stream on Arq B appeared. Before that it had severe bitrate starvation at 720x576. I hope Film4 HD appears on the HD mux as recompense.

I have my umbrella ready for the rain of sarcasm but I am a C&C viewer and some of my friends in the North East can't get the extended hours. They haven't switched yet. Is this the reason?

Yes, see previous posts. (Sorry, I wouldn't have added that comment if "Yes" hadn't been too short!)

Oh Lordy, you're right, Film4 now at 544x576.

RIP Freeview.

This begs the question of why do we continue to watch these channels if we hate the picture quality so much? In fact, I have set up a petition about increasing the resolution back to 720x576 here: http://www.petitiononline.co.uk/peti...o-720x576/4540

I hope that many people here will sign it, please. Also, I hope that I am not breaking the DS terms and conditions by posting a link to my petition. Once many people have signed it, it can be shown to the relevant people, and they will hopefully see sense.

I think the petition would be better if one wasn't also promising to boycott the channels. Much as I hate 544*576 resolution being used for 16:9 broadcasts, given their sheer number, this really isn't practical.

Indeed. Film4 HD was bloody awful when it was 720x576 on Freeview. The bit starvation meant that establishing shots (when scenes changed mostly) turned into LEGO buildings. I prefer blurred picture over that any day.

Hardly HD!

I thought it looked better with the higher resolution, even if it did go a bit blocky at times.
