Personally l think although Jill and Kara were and are technically very good they both had dances that either didn't suit them or they just didn't dance very well. Kara l feel is more of an all rounder but doesn't always connect with her audience and for me always seems to be holding back. For me Jill was a latin girl as her ballroom hold always seemed stiff and arkward. Also whilst she had lots of enthusiasium she could be a little messy. Just my opinon folks!
This maybe controversial now she's a judge but l think Alesha was the best female as she could sell any dance regardless of her technical ability. There were times when you could see her feet or legs weren't quite right but her enthusiuasum would always connect with her audience resulting in her never having a bad dance. Even when she forgot her steps she performed well enough that it was hardly noticed.
The best male is a little more difficult. Front runners would be Ricky, Colin and Austin. Hard to make a case for Austin as he never completed all the dances and he had at least one bad dance that didn't suit him. Colin now would have been my top if he didn't have bad knees and could of aced the jive as he probably had the closest feel as well as phisique of a pro dancer. So Ricky has to be my top. Can't say l was a particular fan as l sometimes found his dancing a little harsh particularly in the Rumba and Samba, but l feel he is probably the best all rounder we have had from the males. His ballroom was particularly impressive.
I have got to give a mention to the likes of Ali, Rachel, Mark, Denise and Zoe. All of whom could have been up for top spot except they all whilst being good (some technically brilliant) had issues sometimes with connecting with the audience, sometimes with particular dances or particular style. Mark comes to mind as his ballroom was weak compared with his latin.
