We have a thread to say who you think the "Best" ever contestant has been, so here's an opposite one -

Not who's been the worst contestant, but who do you think was the worst (undeserving) winner?

For me it was Darren Gough.

I'd agree no disrespect to Goughie but the other two finalists were both better than him.

Darren Gough for me as well, I couldn't see what everyone could see in him, I thought he looked ridiculous dancing with Lilia, the height difference didn't work.
A close 2nd is Chris Hollins, I though Ricky Whittle was robbed!

Tom Chambers for me - terrific Showdance but otherwise I didn't enjoy his dancing at all and felt Rachel was head and shoulders above him.

Darren Gough- at least Cola were likeable. I just couldn't warm to him at all. Now he's apparently going on Dancing On Ice.

Tom Chambers, he was dreadful! I didn't like Camilla either.

Or Natasha Kaplinsky - she wouldn't get passed the 2nd round these days.

I was hoping it was "worst contestant of all time" which must surely go to Fiona Phillips.

Chris - although I loved him and Ola togather, Ricky was by far the best dancer

Tom - still can't believe that he won. Nothing against him personally but I'm still

Goughie - and the worst thing is, he was ahead before the muppet dance

He won SCD and opened his own dancing school, will he suddenly become a pro skater like Kyran Bracken?

Tom Chambers was above average, but he was dull!

Darren Gough was just dreadful, even at the end. Chris Hollins wasn't great either. They were both as bad as each other.

It's a tough one to call, because whether or not the winner was technically competent is always going to matter less to me than whether my favourite woz robbed! So, for me, Darren Gough was the worst winner. Not fair on the man, of course, since he did a good quickstep and went on to win a Christmas Special, but he beat Colin Jackson and Zoe Ball, who should have been contesting the final - a double whammy.

Alesha certainly wasn't the worst, but she's very overrated as a dancer. She had personality, but her technique often wasn't great.

Nah, Widdy has stolen her wooden spoon - Quentin Wilson is only over-looked just he didn't linger around long enough to suck more dances than one. Widdy is still worse than him though at least he tried.

I feel you're all being unfair on Goughie. He improved more than any other contestant in the history of the show, and became an almost excellent dancer from a position of having no ability at all. I would certainly rate him as one of the most worthy winners. Colin Jackson was good from the first show, but blew it with Erin's clever but ultimately awful comedy showdance.

I would say Gough was certainly as good as Mark Ramprakash, but Gough would always win over Ramps due to his charisma.

I'm hoping the previous SCD Christmas specials are repeated again on Sky over Christmas as they were last year. They were the only things worth watching.

Worst winner? A thread to avoid, then;

if you had said "worst contestant", I would have gone for the arrogant overconfident foodie Gary Rhodes. Just for his negative attitude and refusal to spend the time training.

For me Tom Chambers who your right Sid had a great showdance but he shouldnt and wouldnt have been in final if BBC had not changed the rules to keep him in (i'v obviously still not dealt with that)

Didnt much like Chris Hollins either - he only won it on his charleston!

Tom Chambers - Not only was he a mediocre dancer, he had a loathsome personality. AND he danced with the awful desperate Camilla. Just No.

that probably didn't help me

I really liked Tom on ITT and his VTs every week - in fact I liked him right up to the point he took up hold and put on the smug vicar face/french waiter face and then just

He seemed nice enough, but incredibly boring. Blandy McBlanderson. His Paso face was hilarious though

Why is it that actors tend to overact on Strictly? Lynda Bellingham was another.

This is ridiculous, no winner is undeserving. People spent money voting for these people, they wanted these people to win more than any other contestant. End of.

And Tom Chambers was not a dreadful dancer, anyone who thinks so musn't have extensive dance knowledge.

Rachel had the technical side down but only managed to show any sign of actual life on her Rumba.

I'm not sure anyone is saying these winners are undeserving as such (they got the votes so they won fair and square). Just that they are our least favourite winners and that we didn't rate their dancing as much as other contestants during their respective series.
