Foxsat hdr remote contol Sluggish operation
Hi all,
For months now my remote control has been very slow to respond, sometimes I feel that the first press of any button wakes it up, and it takes a second press to actually do something! which is quite annoying to say the least. I have changed the batteries but still the same problem. I still have the usual case of having to really point the remote at the sensor precisely to get it to work ( and all plastic film has been removed). I feel as if I have to press the buttons really firmly to get any response, Note! this remote is actually a replacement as the original unit had a fault on one button, cannot remember which one, but this new replacement has developed a real lag where you have to wait maybe 1 or 2 seconds for a response. Anyone have any ideas ? I also thought it could have started from a firmware upgrade but cannot be sure on that because it was OK when first used. |

When moving through the guide (either +/- 24hrs, +/- 2hrs or page up/down) it can be a real pain in the ar$e. Sometimes I have to press the >> button SIX TIMES to advance 24hrs! ![]() I know that you can purchase replacement remotes which are much better, but, when you spend this amount of money on a 'reputable' unit - why should I have to 'cough up' extra for a decent remote? Contrary to what this post may promote - I am very happy with the unit (but NOT the remote!)

Thanks for the replies chaps, if it gets any worse least the remote Graham has pointed out is an option.
If any one has the Harmony remote can they tell me if it is an improvement on the humax in the directional sense. In other words do you still have to tape a telescopic sight to it!! or is it like a NORMAL remote? |

Does the fault lie with the remote or the sensitivity of the IR receiver in the box? If the Harmony remote really is better then that could be a solution but there is certainly a lack of communication with the original.

Also check that you have removed the protective film from inside and outside the display cover - the inside one is directly over the display. However it is a bit directional.

It seems to be the remote as someone in another post replaced the IR lamp in the original remote with a higher powered one (don't do this at home
) and it worked better. But direction is an issue.Post 45 has CPN describing how to change the IR emitter. Reports were v good. I was about to follow CPN when the OK button died. Instead I bought a Harmony 300, for £10 more than Graham's link. ![]() Works well. Wife struggles with logic of working more than one device, so I'm important again ![]() David |
