I'd be delighted if they got rid of Brendan, I think his dancing looks very old hat up against Artem; Jared was a mistake and Robin, good dancer but doesn't interview or come across well. Aliona seems to have found her feet, she didn't come across too well last year, Katya I could do without, and Kristina - yuk !

Love Robin and Artem , Jared as lovely as he is i dont think his dancing matches up to the other pro's. Love Kristina and Aliona ,not really newbies though and they were amaing on tour . Not too keen on Katya but overall i think all the girls are great and add different qualities to the show .

I like Artem and his choreography is amazing. Robin seems nice enough and a good teacher but his choreography can be a bit hit and miss. I'm prepared to give him another chance though. Jared is waaaaay out of his depth. It's especially obvious in the pro routines.

I definitely hope and think that Artem will be back. I quite like Robin but would much rather have Ian & Matthew back. Jared can go away and come back when he's started shaving LOL.

I think Aretm's the only one of the new pro's that's been any good really. Can't believe Matt and Ian were axed to make way for Jarde and Robin, I really can't.

I like Artem a lot, he is the best of the new bunch! I hope he comes back Robin I like too but he hasn't produced great choreography IMO, so he can come back but Jared was not my cup of tea at all, so I don't want him back!! Ian and Matt to come back over Jared and Robin would be perfect for me, but I doubt it will happen!

I'll join in with the Artem love, and I like Robin. Young Jared can go back home to his little house on the prairie.

As for the ladies - bring back Lilia and get rid of Natalie

I wouldn't mind if Aliona, Artem, Robin and Jared went. For some reason I keep thinking that Jared is called 'Eddie'. That's as much of an impression as he's made on me.
Lol are you serious?

I think the girl pro line up is pretty good at the moment although in an ideal world I'd bring back Nicole and Karen in place of Natalie and Aliona. Really like Katya, I think she had a lot more bite and personality than some of the others. The encouragment she's giving Gavin is admirable.

Boys ... As most have already said, Artem can stay, the other two made very little impression on me. I miss Matthew SO much! So bring back Matt and Brian please.

Artem and Robin can definitely stay. Jared - home to mummy - I can't believe we lost Brian and got him instead

would love to see Ian return as well but I know that's never go happen

The only female dancer from the line up that I would drop would be Kristina. Doesn't seem to get the best out of her partners like some of the others do and seems to me only interested in herself.

From the male line up would drop Brendan or James, Robin and Jared. The first 2 for their personality, the second 2 because there dancing isn't that great.

Artem, I would really like to see back, Robin not bothered about and Jared - total non entity.

I would really like back Brian, Matt and Ian in that order. Would be more than happy for Anton to go to accommodate this and if necessary Brendan and James as well.

I think I miss Ian followed by Matthew most from the departed pro's - male or female. Can't understand why they were dropped at all. I guess the main difference that I can see is that traditional ballroom dancers - competition dancers - have been replaced with general non specific dancers. Would that be fair to say? Artem got his big break on SYTYCD in the US, Jared High School Musical - whereas the year one/two pros on Strictly were UK/European/World champions.

There's a new series coming up on the BBC, So You Think You Can Dance, with Nigel Lythgoe and Arlene Phillips.

There was also a US version of So You Think You Can Dance, also run by Nigel. One of the finalists on that program, Lacey Schwimmer, joined DWTS as a new pro dancer (she did have former ballroom experience).

If the winner of the forthcoming So You Think You Can Dance has TV presence, they could/should be offered the chance of a job on SCD.

Though I suppose that teaching someone else, especially teaching a duffer, requires an entirely new set of skills.

Lacy got her latest partner, who was certainly not the favourite to win, as far as the final. That was some acheivement.
Lacey, Chelsie and Dmitry were all on sytycd and became DWTS pros. Artem was in the first series of SYTYCD USA and was in the top 8 in the competition & probably would have got further if they didn't eliminated a male and female each week.

Lacey's dance partner was Jared but anyone who has seen Lacey dance esp when she was on SYTYCD she could partner anyone and make them look better than they are.

I don't agree that the winner of sytycd should be given a job of scd - the job should be earned not given.

Artem is definitely the pick of the new pros, reminds me a bit of Maxim from the US version. Not a fan of Robin at all, he looks ungainly and awkward when he's dancing. May just be due to his bulk but to be honest some of the celebs look better to my admittedly untrained eye.

Jared wasn't much better, looked very sloppy, obviously not a high level ballroom dancer and wasn't able to tap the potential of his celeb. I think Tina could have progressed much further in the competition with a better teacher.

I agree with the general consensus on this thread that Artem has justified his appointment and should come back next year. Cath 99 has made a really good point that the background of the pros has changed quite substantially from earlier series. Given that this is no longer strictly a dancing show, but an entertainment one, and given the emphasis this year on widening the appeal of ballroom dancing, this makes a kind of sense. As much as the judges didn't like Aliona's contemporary take on the AS, for example, it was a bold attempt to modernise.

I don't think Robin is all that great a dancer, to be honest, although he was very supportive of Patsy from what we could see and may be a better teacher than he is a dancer. Jared was just, well, wrong for Strictly. It's funny that Brian was popular (mostly) here, but not popular when he appeared on DWTS. I liked him a lot, particularly last year and I don't blame him in the least for turning down a role in that wretched troupe - not that we've seen a lot of them lately. Maybe Darren and Ian are taking part in that on a promise that they will be considered for a return to the next series? Otherwise I don't know why they are demeaning themselves.

I really, really, miss Matt and Ian.

I also agree with the consensus that Artem should definitely stay and Robin whilst being a nice guy and supportive teacher is just not a strong enough dancer or choreographer to me. Jared - well he was an accident waiting to happen (hope l don't offend). The fact he was so young and replacing so many pros with such extensive experience he needed to be brilliant to justify his position and frankly he was so bad there were times when his celeb looked better than him!

I miss Brian and Matt most as they were such brilliant dancers as well as brilliant teachers. I can't believe losing those 5 pros has effected the quality of the pro dances to such an extent. That last pro dance on the results show had so little content they might have been lap dancers rather than the trained ballroom dancers they actually are. By the way l don't mind sexy but l need to see dancing too!

Totally agree, Jarde and Robin and the new dance troup are really awful.

They do not dance to the standard that Ian and Matthew did , the pro dances are really poor.

Females, Nicola Cutler was far better than Aliona or Kayta, their ability to teach is poor.

Absolutely. Eddie should go, also Robin. Aliona's choreography is too weird and Artem keeps puting lifts in where there shouldn't be any - too much show dancing although if any one of those was to stay I think it should be Artem because he seems to appeal to women. ( Not to me but if he's very popular , fair enough). .

So, when the big clear out of Pro's happened I thought it was a bit unnecessary and that I would miss the familiar faces, esp Ian Waite and Darren B .. I must say I was totally wrong - I really enjoy seeing the new chaps, especially Artem and Robin who I think are very enjoyable to watch. Just goes to show, a change is as good as a rest....
Artem - OK but would he have been any good with anyone but Kara. I somehow doubt it

Robin - forgettable

Jarred - awful beyond all imagination

Overall should have stuck with the originals

On the whole, I actually quite like the group of pro's. The only one's I'd swap are Jared, Anton (naturally), and probably Aliona.

I feel quite bad for saying Aliona because she seems really nice and deserved a decent partner after Rav, but I'd take Lilia, Karen or Camilla any day over her.

I think there were supposed to be some jive steps in that pro dance in the results show, but I blinked a couple of times so missed them.
