This is indeed a classic. Even the opening lyric "Is there anybody going to listen to my story..." always leaves me feeling in a good mood!

I have always liked U2 but this song really stands out as a timeless classic.

The Beatles and U2 are probably my fave bands of all time!

Echoes by Pink Floyd has to be one of the most amazing, beautiful songs ever written. It's so uplifting - "Overhead the albatross hangs motionless upon the air..."

I am glad you agree with me about Fix You (as many people on DS seem not to like it). I have already declared it as my 6th fave song of the last decade. I love the way it grows as it gets underway, and the guitar solo in the middle is brilliant.

Luke Kelly's version of Raglan Road is stunning - his voice is just incredible on this song and the lyrics are amazing. As much as I love Ronnie Drew when Luke died the Dubliners should have stopped performing this song as it just didn't suit his gravelly voice

I'm resurrecting an old thread, I know sorry!

Faithfully by Journey. This is in my head at the moment because I think I'm falling in love and it's the most amazing feeling, and from my interpretation of the song, I can connect to it
Mr Blue Sky by ELO This song holds so many memories, every time I hear it on the radio, I remember some of the best memories of the last few years, and it's great
You've Got A Friend by.. I'm actually not sure My mum used to sing it to me at bedtime every night, without fail, and it's an amazing memory I still have of being 4 and 5
