This is indeed a classic. Even the opening lyric "Is there anybody going to listen to my story..." always leaves me feeling in a good mood!


I have always liked U2 but this song really stands out as a timeless classic.

The Beatles and U2 are probably my fave bands of all time!

Echoes by Pink Floyd has to be one of the most amazing, beautiful songs ever written. It's so uplifting - "Overhead the albatross hangs motionless upon the air..."

A really beautiful song is Nights in White Satin.

Cosmic Love by Florence and the Machine.

OMG - I LOVE this track. It's one of those songs which is utterly timeless in my book. Wonderful.

I am glad you agree with me about Fix You (as many people on DS seem not to like it). I have already declared it as my 6th fave song of the last decade. I love the way it grows as it gets underway, and the guitar solo in the middle is brilliant.

Luke Kelly's version of Raglan Road is stunning - his voice is just incredible on this song and the lyrics are amazing. As much as I love Ronnie Drew when Luke died the Dubliners should have stopped performing this song as it just didn't suit his gravelly voice

Sara Bareilles - Gravity + breathe again

Love this Joe Bonamassa track - India/Mountain Time, it's blues/rock type of music and he is becoming so great of a musician in the mould of Eric Clapton.
