I don't think she did well on this task at all. But I don't think Liz managed well either. I think they're all to blame equally. I think their past performances spoke up on this task, and Laura was the right person to go.
I agree that Stella gives people really cold stares, but I still maintain she acts mature and dignified in the boardroom and in front of others. She didn't out and out say Stuart, you were shit, she said they didn't deserve the win, which I think deep down he knew. Or he will realise when he grows up a bit!
But I still stick with my opinion that Liz was really out of order and acted like a spoilt child that had never received any critisism in her life.

Well what happened was Sandeesh was fired, Liz and Chris came back to the house and: Liz: ...because obviously Sandeesh was project manager, it kind of fell on her shoulders.
Stella: Lucky for us that you've made so many screw ups because you could have actually won... you should have won.
Joanna owned that week's task. Stuart came up with the idea at least, Joanna made it into a commercial success and I don't remember Stella doing much of anything except muck up the DVD production
. Instead of confronting Stuart directly and in a professional way, she chose to make a snide dig at him in front of everyone and while that's more entertaining for us, it exposes her unprofessional bitchy side. For all his faults, Stuart seems to be quite popular with the other candidates and people tend to take sides in those situations (even unintentionally). This week, I agree Stella did nothing wrong in the boardroom; she just fought her corner and that's what the game's about. Imo Liz simply knows the mood in the house is anti-Stella and she's jumping on the bandwagon to boost her own popularity. Risky strategy for sure, but good on Joanna for staying above it all.

Why is the gender of the people defending Stella important?
There is no evidence at all that LS does not like Stella - in fact he stuck up for her last night when they were discussing them all, saying that Stella had spent 11 years with a Japanese bank and that they had probably trained her to be cold and aloof in business.
As for the task, it did not stand or fall on one item - they ALL negotiated badly.

People are going on this thread how Stella is so professional etc etc, but she was tottaly crap in this task - even trying to prevent Laura from getting cheaper prices and ignoring Laura's advice to go to East London for the truffles.

Haha, because you made so made screw ups. I like Stella because she does seem more mature and seems to rise above the bitching. Her stab at Stuart was justified because he was a bad PM and was disrespectful towards her, and the others on her team. I'm not sure she is the best candidate for the job, I've been a Joanna fan from the first few weeks, but I think she deserves to get very far. Like you say she has been carried a bit..but she's PM'ed well a few times and her and Joanna work brilliantly together.
I hate the way Liz told people in the house Stella's boardroom comments and the way she was like, I don't agree, I'm above being crisitised. And I thought Stella answered her well without resorting to bitchiness or getting personal. I really really can't stand bullying at work (or ever) and I really see what Liz did as out of order and like you say jumping on the bandwagon to boost her own popularity. I can't stand people putting others down and pointing out their failings to make themselves more popular within a group at work. I hated Paloma this year more than anyone (even whiney Laura) because I saw her as a bully.
Not a good week task wise for Stella, but her boardroom decorum and her responses to Liz have kept my opinion of her as a good candidate.

I don't think that's true. The others usually want to know what happened in the boardroom, and the candidates who were there tell them. It just doesn't always make the edit.

It tends to be light-hearted though.The only other time I can think of that things got nasty was the house, bar Lucinda and Raef, ganging up on Sara.
I've no idea whether she's a bitch, but the others appear to find her stern and humourless judging by the footage in the house before yesterday's task. Whilst she's clearly older than those left, there's no need for her to address them like naughty children as opposed to equals in a competition.
I also disagree with her boardroom strategy of attacking Liz. It would have done her more favours in the long term to admit that based on this task she deserves to leave but hopes that LordAlan keeps her in based on previous performance so she can show that she can learn from mistakes. That would have been a smarter strategy imo.

But it's a totally different situation. Stuart had been a dick to her right through the task. She hadn't treated Liz in at all that way.
I didn't like the way she couldn't care less about Laura being fired, twice she gave a couldn't give a monkeys look.
