These are my thoughts on Laura, based on the show and sweeping generalisations.

She has had enough handed to her in life to expect to win tasks, not get fired and get away with behaving like a brat in the process.

But underneath her smugness she knows she has limited talents - hence refusing to make a decision and always acting like she's on work experience (when she is on a subteam, she naturally takes the deputy role).

She should have been fired when she was PM and was lucky to get as far as she did.

It's a shame really because it would be good to see a young woman win.

Not me, she should have gone weeks ago. Useless, whiney, waste of space. And her eyes are too close together.

Her eyes were her defining feature I think. I wouldn't say no.

She just seemed a real person, true, not the ideal person you'd want to handle important money decisions, but in five or six years - after an apprenteship with Sugar - she may find she is capable after all.

It's true she made a bad start. As did Joanna. The difference is that Joanna turned it around and showed she had talent, so that now she is one of the most popular. Laura was never quite as bad again as she was on the second task, but she then she never did anything to reverse that early bad opinion either. Indeed, she mostly added to it, for example by wishing her own team would lose on the German task because Stella had upset her.

It's not always a woman who gets the early bad attention. I myself never liked Alex in series 4, for example, which started with his poor performance leading the first task. Stuart in this series is a joke to some. You're point about the ravening hyenas is ironic, since you apparently have the need to be superior to <i>them</i>.


It requires less courage to be PM early than late.

Just about sums up my sentiments.

I was complaining about people who make 'me too' posts about candidates who are generally unpopular. They're not sticking their head above the parapet - just going along with the mob.

My post was not a 'me too' post and it wasn't attacking an unpopular candidate so it's not in any way ironic.


Now you're just being contradictory for the sake of it.

I will. I'm not sure I'd like to meet her in person, and I certainly wouldn't like to work with her, but she made for entertaining television and is very, very pretty.

2 out of the 5 winners so far have been young women, so it wouldn't be unusual.

I will. I watch TA from a purely entertainment-based viewpoint, I know nothing about business! She was hilarious, and the compliation of her strops on last night's YF was hilarious

I didn't like the way she repeatedly told people she thought they were wrong, followed by "but you do whatever you want" rather than trying to correct the error. It came across like she had the boardroom in mind the whole time, and was always looking for ammunition to use against others in case they ended up there, rather than focusing entirely on winning the task.

Honestly, Laura was a boring whiny candidate. No offense to Laura, the person.
I still miss Paloma. She was exciting to watch.

Paloma was brilliant to watch (gorgeous too). It was odd they singled her out for her bad attitude when plenty of other contestants (usually male) have been as bad or worse than Paloma and not been thrown out for it. The useless Alex, or even the lovely-but-useless Sandeesh, deserved to go instead of her.

Laura had exceeded her injury time, so she was really gone the moment she was in the boardroom. This time it wasn't her fault the task went wrong, but based on her performance overall, she deserved to go.

To her credit, she took it quite well and seemed to agree in the Taxinterview - that left me with a better impression of her than I had before. But I won't be missing her too much.

I agree. I didn't like Paloma much but if she'd been a man she would have stayed in a lot longer. Look at the likes of Syed who acted like a plonker every time he went into the boardroom and made loads of mistakes in the tasks and still somehow got to the final five.

About sums up my thoughts on the matter. She was okay on this task and I was quite suprised the toys remained in the pram when she was fired. However, I wouldn't have been so surprised if she hadn't acted so badly in previous eppys.

So, no miss, but I do look forward to seeing her in the next instalment of the "Twilight" series. The name of the character she will play? Mona.

Out of the three main mad-eyed women, Wild-eyed Sandeesh, Black-Eyed Liz and Evil-Cyclops Laura, I think Laura is definitely the one you wouldn't want to wake up and find stood staring at you from the corner of the bedroom.

I will. Clearly she was never going to win, but she always seemed like a decent (if easily frustrated) person.

I think youth as an excuse has been shown up by the Junior Apprentice candidates, not one of whom behaved as petulantly as Laura did.

I wasn't talking about youth as an excuse for petulance I was simply saying that as one of the youngest candidates she did well to get past the half way stage against candidates many of whom had a lot more experience.

Oh, and I forgot to mention - Nick seems like he'll miss her. He said "she's no pushover". I just thought - Nick, what are you on about? Is he in her fan club or what? She was a total pushover when she was PM. She was OK at best when a team-player. She did have points, but always fell down when putting them across.

I suppose the gabbling at the meeting in Germany betrayed her inexperience

tbh Nick is great for entertainment but I'm not convinced he's all that perceptive/ knowledgeable about business (he's a PR man rather than a business one). Certainly the last couple of series he's said quite a few things that have made me raise my eyebrows (the way he seemed to have it in for Debra but was completely in love with Ben last season for example).

Maybe, but that supposed that you'd kicked her out of bed first, which would have been your mistake!

Laura seemed a bit of a tiger cub. She looks like she needs to learn more to develop - she could be a great PA in time - carrying out orders and given the safety of a secure boss-PA relationship, express good ideas and spot problems. She was just a bit too inexperienced at dealing with tough ambitious people. Given development, she would be as good a team member as most.

Liz is too high maintenance for my tastes, but I found Sandeesh attractive and charming enough to enjoy spending time with. she was also ethical as well as competent, which goes a long way with me.
