Could Sugar credibly pick Chris now?
Jepson
02-12-2010
After the whacking his credibility took when he picked Lee after he was shown to have lied on his CV, can he possibly afford to choose another candidate who has demonstrated that he is such a natural liar?

Whilst it's true that in business it's often necessary to bend the truth a little could Sugar really be seen to choose someone to whom complete fantasy comes so easily?

I would never employ Chris because I'd never be able to trust him to tell me the truth, let alone risk the damage he might do to my company by making up some careless lie.

True there could be no such comeback on these one off tasks but what's worrying is the way he could tell complete and outright lies without the slightest difficulty.

I half agree with you, but half don't. Lord Sugar might see it as Chris understood who he was buying from and adapted to this. He stepped out of his comfort zone and turned into a bit of a Delboy to drive prices down. A lot of smaller stores in London are used to people inventing stories and saying anything to drive prices down I know I do it!

So, I half agree that he did lie and was good at it!

But also that he stepped out of his comfort zone maybe and had a go and it paid off.

I think Lord Sugar affords a candidate he likes quite a few mistakes or questionable moves.
If I were to guess who he was eyeing up for his next Apprentice, I'd shockingly put Chris at the top of the list.

I agree. Chris, or at least Sugar's reactions to Chris, remind me of Simon Ambrose who won largely because it was clear from pretty early on Sugar just liked him.

Chris was a shockingly bad liar and not a natural at it at all. His delivery was pained and it was obvious the people he was lying too saw right through him.

Lord Alan has nothing to worry about!

Chris will win because hes the best one there.

His performance has been low recently, and I think Jamie may be a better candidate, but if you're asking me which of the boys is most likely to win then I'd have to go with Chris.
