If not rewind and watch it later. It's worth a look for a laugh.
Great spot!

I didn't spot that so I'll have a look at the replay tomorrow night. But what I DID spot was, when Tony Stewart was leading ESPN went to a break. When they came back and the ticker re-appeared,for a couple of seconds instead of saying "leader:Stewart" it said "winner:Stewart"!
Good to see Ned Jarrett again.
Also who is the new female anchor on the countdown show? Don't remember her from last year.

+1

Best race ESPN has ever done IMO. I hope they can keep it up, and even improve over the next few weeks.

Yes totally agree ESPN/FOX are really fantastic and as said espn is better this year i really dont know why TNT gets what they get as it is very poor but at least its only a small amount of races they get.

I agree that the ESPN coverage was almost on par with FOX.

TNT almost made me lose interest in the series.

i like the espn coverage in general, but i thought they were a bit rusty for this race which i suppose can be expected to some extent with it being their first one of the series.

likes:
the ticker.
alan bestwick.
for this race only, i loved the camera above pit lane, which tracked as the cars went past - gave a great impression of speed the cars go at.
for this race only again, the first-time winner. been a long time coming!

dislikes:
the chap who does the cutaway car bits.
too many ads. at one point they came back from a break, said "[driver] is leading, we'll take a quick break" and went to another.

Yes, that one did make me laugh, but in fairness it was a long caution period whilst that huge amount of grass was cleared from the track.

As per the letter I received (which was after you posted that request), they took 6.99 yesterday.

EDIT1: According to my calculations i should have paid 32.95 so far, but have actually paid 25.95, which means I should be 7.00 in arrears.

EDIT2: And even more curious, my subscription started on the 20th Feb (Daytona 500), but my first payment was for April, meaning I haven't actually paid for March, or the 9 days of February.

That's what I was getting at earlier in the thread.

March-£8.49 (correct-half price+connection fee)
April-£3.49 (second month half price)
May/June-£3.49 (balance = -£6.99)
July-£10.49 (balance = -£3.49).

Although depending on how you look at it I could also be £10.49 in arrears. Remember the contract says you pay in advance,I signed up in February and I'd already been viewing for a month before they took any money. Again by my calculations the correct procedure would have been for them to take £11.99 in March and then £6.99 p/m after that.
And I still haven't had a letter. Will wait to see what they take out on August 15th..

They took 10,49 out of my account without even getting in touch which i thought was bad but so long as they dont keep taking that amount i will ok with it. Just out of intrest on their facebook page everyone keeps asking about virgin media if they go on there will it be a pay channel or will it be free to virgin customers?

I would have thought Pay, otherwise being Free on virgin would be unfair for Sky viewers.

At best it would probably be on the XL pack, but more likely a separate subscription channel

Well they finally got it right again by taking £6.99 this month but I still haven't had a letter which I think is poor-given the number of subscribers surely it can't be taking them this long to send all the letters out?

Looking increasingly like no race today then. How late are they likely to leave it before calling it off till tomorrow? Presumably it would be at noon eastern (5pm UK) and there are no live events in the Prenier sports epg tomorrow afternoon/evening so if it's postponed I expect it still to be shown on Premier tomorrow.

Well it apparently takes about 2 1/2 hours to dry, so even if it stopped now, call it 10.30pm UK time, 5.30pm ET, don't know when it starts getting dark there, but they'd want to get to half distance so they could call it a race and award points, but........I'd expect a decision no later than 10pm UK time, and that's assuming it stops raining. The forecast for tomorrow isn't exactly sensational either.

Well anyway it's changed my plans around, was gonna record the Indy Car and L&O UK (using ITV+1 for the latter),now I can watch the Indy race and record L&O at 9.00. In fact the Indy race has been bought forward half an hour because of weather closing in as well so I'm off for now.

They've got those jet engine blowers out on the track now.

Looks like they are trying to get it run today.

Problem is it takes 2hrs+ they reckon to dry the track (especially as it's absolutely soaked), they then need to get the race going, they need to get to half distance, and there's still a risk of rain later in the day, plus the issue of when it gets dark.

They say that if the race can go green by 5:45pm ET it can be run today. However, if it rains any more, it will have to be postponed. If the race is pushed back, it will be rescheduled to 10:00am ET Monday. 5.45pm ET is 10.45pm UK time, and 10am ET is 3pm UK time.

It's started raining again, so it's been postponed until Monday 3pm UK time.

That's probably because ESPN will more than likely have left it for good given it's officially been postponed.
