I think the whispering was probably press speak. I think the point is Matt is quoted as having been in pain yesterday while recording the winner's single. At the end of NIWS last Matturday, he clutched his throat and grimaced in a "that hurt" way, so it's all sounding as though he strained his voice whilst singing with tonisilitis last week

He HAS to sing something on Saturday or he goes out. I know because the same thing happened to Ben Mills the year Leona won. Ben had laryngitis and had to have a steroid spray to be able to sing at all. Thing about steroids is they're miracle workers in the short term, giving a hoarse singer their voice back temporarily, but long term they can mean that the underlying cause of the problem lingers on for longer. It may be that Matt had to use a steroid spray last week & that that is why he's still affected this week, but that's pure conjecture on my part. I'm still snowed in, so far too much time on my hands to fret!
The good thing is that he doesn't
look ill, the way he did last week, so hopefully rest will solve it. If I was Savan however, I wouldn't be allowing him to do interviews, thankyou videos etc (much as I love them). I'd ban him from speaking at all, but then despite not having kids, I'm a bit of a mother hen!
