For me stella and Liz dont have that passion in them.

Jamie is okay but useless half the time and Stu is funny but a annoying **** most the time, I think he needs another 5 years to grow up.

I can see the two of them and Stella in the final three. But I just can't bring myself to eliminate Stella. Chris isn't particularly brilliant and Joanna reminds me of Yasmina with the way she gets on with things and is quite successful, but she seems a bit less focused than Yasmina and quite vulnerable at times. I just really like Stella.

If not for Laura's poor record, Stella would have (and should have) gone yesterday, IMO...

I don't dislike Chris (and have developed a bit of a crush on him if I'm honest!) but I think his performance overall has been pretty poor.

I thought the way he went about negotiating this week was desperate and rather embarrasing. Those stories he spun were good for a laugh but didn't demonstrate the sort of skills Sugar will have been looking for. And his pitching is terrible. That voice just drones on.....

I agree it was a particularly weak task for Stella, but otherwise she seems the most personable and sensible person there.

Stella's my favourite, but I can see a Joanna vs Chris final 2. Lord Sugar seems to be constantly waiting for Chris to get into his groove. The other spot will be either Joanna or Stella I think. He likes Stella's boldness, and Joanna has just got better and better.
I don't think Lord Sugar likes Liz though, he has bitten her head off in the past when she uses cliched statements or puts more gloss over the facts than on her lips.
This week he did described her as shrewd, which is his favourite word, but I still think she's too nicey-nice and false for him.

Nick himself had said many times earlier on in the series how boring and monotonous Chris is, in both pitches and his selling technique. I don't get how or why he has suddenly become a front runner :S

Agree Chris hasn't been remarkable but I get the feeling he may be what LA is looking for - no matter how poor he's been, he's managed to defend himself well by being articulate and pragmatic in the boardroom.

As for the task and the way he went about it, doesn't the end justify the means? Stella's approach vis-à-vis being professional or 'not being rude' in a haggling task! means she was on to a loser....which is where Chris has the edge over Stella. Essentially in business you need to be able to adapt yourself to any given situation.

I disagree. She knows what she knows but is pretty inflexible and can't adapt quickly...which would worry me as an employer.

As for personable, how do you define it? Joanna's much more personable imo...

I take your point, Chris has handled himself well in the boardroom.

But I'm a bit disappointed that the show has become so heavily focussed on that side of things rather than task performance. It seems to be more about tactics.

why do you have such a problem with people who root for different contestants to yourself??

I dunno, Stella seems to be more friendly and compassionate in business which can be an advantage, but can also backfire if you're supposed to be literally haggling with a man in the back of a van, but Sugar's gone a long way from that. Joanna is only as friendly as she needs to be to get the job done. It depends on what kind of business you're running really. If I was Alan Sugar, dubbed Britain's most belligerent boss, and I wanted to establish a long-term business relationship with someone I'd want Stella representing me.

When has Stella shown compassion? I've never even seen her smile. Joanna on the other hand was the one who made Laura charge a customer the original price for the children's ride DVD and is particulary great with customers and especially children...all of which demonstrate compassion.

That's a bit of an understatement, isn't it?

You hate her with a passion and don't let any opportunity to say so pass you by.

Of course, having someone who is incapable of writing properly making obsessive comments about a candidate tells us more about them than the candidate in question.

Not that it matters. You only have to look at the 'rate the candidates' thread to see you are way out on a limb.


A lot of people find posters who are obsessively negative about a particular candidate to be a bit of a joke, boring, and not to be taken seriously.

Stella might be friendly towards clients, but it is now very clear that she will alienate her co-workers. For me, that flaw is much bigger then the corporate tag.

As for compassionate, I will not even go there (the evidence is on the screen).

Before this episode (though the movie task and the Germany task were also shaky) Stella was one of the contenders, but now I think most of us can agree that she will not make it to the final.
