Liz vs Stella
pjw1985
02-12-2010
There was obviously a Liz vs Stella thing going on last night with the pair of them battling it out in the boardroom and tbh they were both so good that i'm afraid Laura didn't stand a chance. Then at the end when they were back at the house it was clear there was some real rivalry between them. I'd like to see more of this next week

In a straight shoot-off between these two, Liz will be hired by Lord Alan.

I don't like Liz anymore. I think she's shown her true colours in the last task. But on the other hand, Stella has shown she doesn't negotiate well. I still prefer Stella, but it's Sugar's opinion that counts.

Liz's head will likely blow if she gets the cold shoulder from Stella again.

having read this I'm quite looking forward to Liz getting through to the interview stage

I can't believe some of the phrases these candidates (and previous ones before i'm sure) use to describe themselves. Such as "(I'm) somebody who’s exceptional for their age group." and "I want to be the person who is recognised universally as being a pinnacle of excellence in whatever it is I do.”

I'd feel like such a knobhead if I had to talk about myself like that, but then I can't stand the whole "talking yourself up"/talking a load of balls thing they do in business

If I were Lord Sugar, in next week's programme, I'd separate Liz and Stella, rearranging the teams again.
For example----Stella, could you join Chris and Jamie, and Stuart, could you join Liz and Joanna.

Well I'm glad that they are still together. The teams for next week are: Stella, Liz and Stuart v Jamie, Joanna and Chris.

Those pics of Chris and Liz look like they are doing CoverGirl ads. Chris wins for the pouting lips and for smiling with his eyes or 'smizing'.

Liz could use the line 'while glossing over the facts in your life, gloss over the flaws in your face'.

I think Stuart will manage to contain them. They will both go for him instead of bickering.

I think they are at fault on both sides to be honest.

I actually didn't think Liz managed the task as badly as Stella said - she certainly planned better than Jamie did. What let her down was that she wasn't a good negotiator, and neither were her teamates - including Stella. So I think there is collective rather than PM responsibility for Apollo's loss. Stella in particular let herself down.

On the other hand though, Liz reacted badly to the criticism. She continued the argument out of the boardroom and in the house, and as a result came across bad in my opinion. She didn't try to address why Stella had a problem. That look she gave at the end would kill .

Thing is, all the girls lost focus on the haggling bit. They got discounts, but nothing like what the boys were getting. Stella and Laura's truffle blunder stood out most because it was a relatively expensive item, but Liz was doing no better and seemed just as reluctant to push hard for a discount. Stella's criticism of Liz was fair enough, and it was childish of Liz to react like she did. She knows that people will criticise each other in the boardroom and have to do so.
