Move Alesha into the Tess role

Didn't like her at first but I honestly thought she was improving...now really disappointed with her. Critics of Bruno are forgetting one thing - he has had a lot of exoerience as a professional dancer and at least knows what he is talking about even if he is a bit mad sometimes. We all know that Alesha doesn't have any experince to speak of and therefore we are not inclined to cut her any slack. She is on fairly dangerous ground to start with and when she marks in a totally random and unfair way people are - rightly - going to be annoyed.

Its not broken, so why change it, everything is working fine with the girls in their current roles.

Basically, no.

You have 3 judges who are supposed to comment and mark professionally and only Craig can be relied upon to do so - yet his 1, 2, 3 paddle scores get criticised as harsh. Len is cranky and inconsistent while Bruno is off on a planet, having discovered his inner self, or summat.

The fourth judge, Alesha, was never ever from the beginning meant to mark or score professionally, but to give more like a "people's reaction" (don't ask me for proof of this - BBC press releases have limited shelf lives).

In the first couple of shows she got slated for not saying very much. She got better with practice, and towards the end of her first series her remarks were listened to by the contestants sometimes with gratitude, as she had obviously been watching the dances, not working out sound bites.

This series she started out with lots of compliments, but now is commenting the way we do in the forums - not always with sweetness and light. I can still see her being invited back as a judge next year, if her schedule allows, so we had better get used to this bit of the scenery. (At least she keeps Len and Bruno apart.)

I'm usually quite good at guessing Craig's and Alesha's marks before the paddles go up.
As for Len and Bruno, I give up.

Simple answer is the director general needs to resign and then we wouldn't have the dictatorship scd seems to posses at the moment.

I think she's just as entertaining as the other judges. I don't have a problem with her as a judge any more. Yes she overscores sometimes but don't they all (except Craig of course)?

Craig is the only one with any judging integrity babe.

Shows bbc's credibility then.

Actually I've always supported Alesha as a judge, and always thought that Craig should get more respect for his judging. And I heartily wish DWTS would find two other judges so that Len and Bruno could revert to their former delightful selves.

No, I would not change the judging panel next year - seeing that the BBC has sent the show down the spout anyway, what would be the point? You could bring in four brand new top expert judges, but if the BBC insists on bringing in the "comedy" element because of the rating wars, then such expert judges would be wasted.

Better the devils we know than the divas we don't.

It's not that I ever was on the Alesha hate train. It's just that before she started and at the very beginning of last year, I found myself wondering just how she was going to fit and as a lover of Alesha the contestant, I was worried I would end up getting annoyed at her as a judge. Halfway through series 7 those fears disappeared (right around the time she told Craig Kelly that he sucked, exactly what I'd been wanting someone to tell him since week 1 ) and ever since I've been happy with her place in the judges panel

I also totally agree about Craig. I get annoyed at the reaction of the audience, Bruce and Len to Craig's honest remarks. He is the only judge whose opinion matters to me and it irritates me that he's painted as the panto villain when he's the only one telling the truth and making this a bonafide dancing competition.

Can't say I'm surprised to hear that, Craig is the only one I have respect for good or bad.

I thought that Alesha had improved this series, it was such a shock that I kept my feelings to myself - but now she's back on form so I can join in the chorus "Alesha out!".
