Hi,

I have my Humax remote setup to control my TV when I select the TV button. This works perfectly but I was wondering if it was possible to configure the remotes volume control buttons to use the TV volume even when in PVR mode?

It's only minor I know, but it'd be nice to not have to switch to TV, change the volume then switch back to PVR every time...

Thanks!

The One-For-All universal remotes have this "Punch Through" facility but with the Foxsat remote you are stuck with the extra key presses. I have the 5 in 1 OFA but as it is old it does not have a code for the Foxsat. So I leave that one in TV mode and use it for volume control. In any case, I need it to control the volume on my AV amp which I had to do using the learning feature on the P+/P- keys leaving the V+/V- keys to control the volume of the headphones permanemtly plugged into the TV.

As I only use the TV via my HDR I set the TV volume higher than normal - Then I just use the HDR remote to modify the HDR volume.

But that will only work if connected by SCART. Which defeats the object of the exercise of watching the HD channels connected by HDMI.

My Sony TV is connected to my HDR by only the HDMI connection. The HDR remote volume control works perfectly for me even when watching an HD channel. Like the previous poster suggestion, I set the TV volume high and only use the HDR volume control. All I can say it works for me OK this way. I don't use the HDR scart interface for any other connectivity.

It works via SCART and HDMI for me (on different box / TV combinations) I would not think noone would want both connections from a HDR to a single TV.

Nothing to do with the volume issue but I use both the HDMI and SCART connections from the HDR to a single TV simply because an SD picture is noticeably better on my TV via SCART, but of course I switch to HDMI for HD stuff.

My setup is the same as chrissaf's, HDR into a Sony KDL-40X2000 tv by HDMI only, and the HDR controller operates the volume on HD perfectly. I have never understood why people complained that they couldn't control the volume of HD channels via the HDR controller until a few days ago when I helped a neighbour install his HDR and Sony KDL-37EX503, It does not work for him. I've been through all the obvious things, like setting Dolby off in the Humax setup. I also tried all the available options in his TV to no avail.

Another difference is that turning on his HDR switches his TV to the HDMI input. Mine doesn't, I have to manually go to AV5.

Does anyone know of any tv or hdr settngs that can help him and/or me, please ?
