Isn't the "all on the dancefloor together" thing the more traditional way of doing this?

And isn't the more traditional way of doing this what people have been demanding of SCD all series?

They clearly just made them up - Ali got 10 when Brian used awful floorcraft, and Ricky only got 9 for serenely leading Natalie around the floor and dealing professionally with any obstructions!

I've taken part in these kind of elimination marathons (not for swing though) and I hate them. If they let the couples simply dance a routine on the floor at the same time, without making people leave the floor, but with the judges stationed around the sides marking like a proper ballroom competition, then I think it would work better - no conferring to distract the judges, no-one wandering on and off the floor to distract the contestants.
