I don't like champagne on it's own, but I do like it as part of a cocktail or as a bucks fizz.. Can someone point me in the direction of some decent sparkling wine please? We have a Tesco, an Asda and a Lidl.

Try some Crémant de Bourgogne, the same quality as Champagne, often even better, at a lower price.

Blanquette or Cremant would be fine, as would Spanish Cava or Italian Asti. The key will be if you want it very dry ( extra brut ) / dry ( brut ) or sweeter ( doux )

The prosecco from lidl is very good - its had good reviews in the past from the guardian and the independent its about £3.99 or so i think, i haven't had it for a while.
