Hello, I was going to get my daughter an Ipad for Christmas, which would be convenient to take on holidays, or away from home etc, one of the downfalls I understand would be that it does not accommodate playing facebook games (which is one reason of getting her one, Is this true, as I am not sure

Thanks

iPad doesn't do Flash so some Facebook games won't work in the browser, but some of the more popular games (e.g. Farmville) have their own iPad apps which you can log into and use directly.

Apparently the tractoring is much improved in the app. I have no idea what that means as I don't play Farmville, though. Despite my friends constantly trying to send me bonus pigs and lonely exploding ducks that have wandered onto their allotment. Baffling game...

Check out freeapaday.com and freeappalerts.com for iPhone/iPad apps that have gone free.

if getting an ipad, make sure her itunes account is not linked to any credit/debit cards ( I am an adult and find I spend to much on apps, so have now switched to using itunes vouchers. Also some games on ipads/iphones allow 'in app' purchases which can mean real money being spent.

Also if your shrewd buying your Itunes cards, you'll get free money.

I recall that those cheap netbooks of old that did not run Flash had a warning sticker on the box.

Yet In today's Independent 1, a big Tesco Ads says 'the best way to experience the web'.
Slightly weird with reverse logic there.

If anyone buys one and gets bored after a few days you can certainly claim a refund for false advertising.
