Yes I was agreeing with Feline Fantastic and I must say I was a bit confused about Tall Paul's response.

I like Matt, but ITT and Strictly aren't just about him. This Friday panel was actually quite good, people weren't plugging things and Tamsin and Michael seemed to have a real understanding and respect for the show. I think it was pure coincidence that they were supporting other couples.

I think this week Matt had enough exposure and enough fuss was made of his undermarking (I think I would start to get annoyed if I was a Scott fan, because it wasn't his fault he was overmarked).

I also will be controversial, despite the fact that I don't have any favourites, to me Kara is the better dancer.

You're not being attacked. People are just expressing themselves about your post in which you were expressing yourself. No big deal. But for future reference, if you don't want people to berate your right to an opinion, you should stop yourself from doing the same - whether it's a forum poster or a celeb on a Friday panel. Discussion of opposing viewpoints isn't always hostile, don't read too much into it

Have just rewatched tonights show beyond me where Tamsin and Michael were quite nasty towards Matt..quite the opposite infact imo.

Michael has been on at least three or four previous years ITT and is clearly a huge fan of the show.

Like I said in my other posts there will be celebs opinions I will care about and some I just won't bother listening to.

How popular they are is neither here nor there, they were not nasty about Matt or any of the other contestents.One of the best panels of the series.

Matt and Michael have worked together in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. When Matt was still in Blue Peter he went into the show to perform the big dance number 'Me Ol Bamboo'.Matt joined the cast for one performance before going on to play the role of Carractacus Potts on tour.

I thought they made an excellent panel. Everyone has their favourites - people have been on there before who were enjoying Matt the most so it doesn't mean they are against Matt if they happened to have a different favourite.


That's exactly it - a forum is for differing viewpoints without slating others - discussing the points yes and we all have our likes and dislikes - but Tall Paul, I don't like the way your posts slate others when it doesn't fit with your viewpoint and then you repeatedly do the selfsame thing which you criticise others for doing.


Why? they are only giving THEIR opinion - if it's different to yours, it doesn't matter. They have a right to give opinion, as do you. Doesn't mean they are against your favourite, OR against you! Or that, because they have made observations about your favourite that weren't 100% gushing, it doesn't mean they were being nasty - merely having an opinion. That kind of reaction in that scenario i.e. commenting that people are "being nasty" just smacks of being in the school playground, when in reality, they were merely commenting on how they found him to be. Fair enough.

I really liked the Friday panel - Kara is my favourite but I would have said the same about the panel if their favourites had been the other dancers I am less keen on rather than my own favourite. I think both Michael and Tamsin both truly love the show and they gave fair opinions. We all have different ones and everyone's should be respected without having the "nasty" tag levelled at them when they make a comment which is less than complimentary - doesn't matter so long as it is constructive and fair.

On a lighter note, Craig was very funny!

What I don't like however is snide and reading the Matt and Aliona appreciation thread seemed to indicate that Michael and Tamsin were being quite snidey towards Matt. He doesn't deserve that at all. The idea of an EE final except for Kara would make it boring.:sleep: Btw, you don't need to shout or and their to me as I get the message loud and clear.

Paul, don't be upset by the opinion of a third-rate performer like Tamsin Outhwaite.

However, she's right - Matt doesn't have sex appeal and I know why: it's because he cannot fake fancying his partner. It's all very well saying "we get on really well", but she's just the wrong type for him.

That, combined with the stressful and weird routines she's creating, seriously detract from the impression Matt makes.

Gosh, I'm just watching DWTS and have seen the "no need to swear" episode repeated in the same circumstances in the finale of season 11. Don't ask me who the couple were, it's an awful programme, I'm just sampling it so's I can say I've seen it.

I honestly do not think they were being snide and I really didn't like the suggestion that they were. I truly don't. I would say so if I thought they were because I don't like that kind of thing either.

I think there are four incredibly good dancers left in the competition - (I love Gavin but he isn't a good dancer and Ann goes without saying!) - and every single one of those four would deserve to win.

It simply boils down to our own personal favourites.

You and I have had our ding-dongs on here - but I wish you and your fave luck and am hoping for the same for mine.

More than anything, I want a good fair competition - almost doesn't matter in a way who wins now - they've all done so very well and I've enjoyed them.

Matt, Kara and Scott could all win outright and Pam has the potential to win. Gavin and Anne are the two that are not as strong as the others and therefore are in danger of elimination.

I actally want Matt to win but I have a feeling Kara may take it in the end.

Bit too "Blue Peter" for me! Gethin managed to shake off the image during the show so I don't know why Matt cannot.

I have changed my allegiance throughout this series. Between Scott, Kara and Pamela. Although I agree Matt is a good dancer, somehow he just doesn't appeal to me. And I know why.

You really are quite crafty Paul. You claim only to be reading what others have said in that thread and yet you were the one trying to keep the outrage going all night, on there and in here too.

Honestly, all that was said was that Matt can't do sexy. It is a fairly unbiased opinion (and also not an uncommon observation), despite posters on the AppThrd claiming Tamsin is biased toward EE celebs (I won't use that smiley, but trust me I did roll my eyes when I read that comment).

As you well you know, appreciation threads are by there very nature biased. And for some reason some couples seem to pick up more of the precious type of fan than other couples. By that, I mean the sort of type who put their favourites on an unrealistic pedestal and deem even the most inoffensive remark to be a huge slur on their chosen ones. Last year it was Ali and Brian, this year it appears to be Matt and Aliona.

So, my hat off to all the Matt fans who ignored your faux outrage. Both on this thread and on the one in appreciation.

I also wish the best of luck to Matt tonight. Despite being a short, plain and sometimes overweight comedy actor, Mike Myers actually can do sexy. I hope Matt rises to the Austin Powers challenge
