Opera on Satellite
Così fan tutte by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart this afternoon on ZDFtheaterkanal... http://theaterkanal.zdf.de/ZDFde/inh...8,00.html?dr=1
Don't forget the time difference!! Also as mentioned in another thread... Rigoletto is being repeated 08., 20., 25. and 30.12.2010 http://theaterkanal.zdf.de/ZDFde/inh...9,00.html?dr=1 I really enjoyed what I saw of this production... And finally, not really opera but the full Christmas Oratorio (all six Cantatas) by Johann Sebastian Bach is being broadcast tomorrow morning. http://theaterkanal.zdf.de/ZDFde/inh...6,00.html?dr=1 http://theaterkanal.zdf.de/ZDFde/inh...8,00.html?dr=1 |

Do you know the rondomagazin.de website? Has a useful "classical music on tv" section. http://www.rondomagazin.de/tvprogramm.php I`m trying to find out if Rai 3 is on 19.2 (which I dont think it is) as there`s a Walkure from La Scala on on Tuesday which i am very keen to get. |

Its on Hotbird at 13E. Having just checked on the Rai 3,it was nowhere to be found. Google search reveals its going to be shown on Rai 5(new encrypted channel). However it will be shown on Servus Tv,on 19th December, and that is free to air on 19E: Servus Tv(SD): 12662H 22000 5/6 Servus Tv(HD) 11302H 22000 2/3 |

What a shame my receiver isn't here. I've been having persistent problems with playing back recordings, and when it messed up the "Don Pasquale", it was the last straw. It went back to the supplier 2 weeks ago, the day before the snow began. They were going to send it back to Technomate, who they said were usually pretty quick to react. Unfortunately, the supplier is 20 miles inland, down a side road and on the wrong side of a small hill! I doubt there's been much chance of either sending anything out or getting anything in.
I'd really like to catch the "Rigoletto". |

http://www.satelliweb.com/index.php?...search&q=opera I'm something of a beginner at anything other than 28.2 E. My wife wants more French channels so it's definitely something we will be getting into more in the future, especially now I know how easy it is to find the some of the main satellites. |

Any idea what time as I'm struggling to get the program guide on their website to work for me...
Thanks for the reminder! I'm not a Wagner fan, but I have friends who are and will enjoy it. After 3 long weeks, I've got my receiver back temporarily, the original problem having been fixed, I hope. Time will tell. I've now found the terrestrial tuner isn't working despite showing an excellent signal, so it'll have to go back yet again, although I'm waiting until after Christmas. |

Walkure - Servus TV - anyone record it?
My timer recorded the Walkure broadcast this morning but when I went to watch it this afternoon, I found I'd recorded 4 hours of the menu of my TV which had somehow got itself fed back into the input! Doh.
Anyone record it OK and able to share, burn a DVD for me, upload Rapidshare? |

Walkure - satellite recording
That's a shame, Gneiss - hope you get it fixed soon. I'm scratching my head to work out why my DVD BR is recording from older DVDR when it's supposed be recording the direct feed from the satellite box!

I know it's been mentioned in the "FTA Gems" thread.
But if you haven't seen it, French channel Mezzo (which shows opera along with other stuff such as classical music and ballet) is currently FTA on Hot Bird. 12245H SR 27.5 -rapido |

Rigoletto in Mantua
For those who'd prefer English subtitles to the German ones on the ZDF broadcast, might like to know BBC4 is repeating its version 19:00 on New Years Eve.
In the original live relay, BBC's was troubled by a slight sound problem in the first five minutes. The ZDF one, which was relayed later, wasn't. It will be interesting to see/hear if the BBC recording has corrected this for the repeat... Happy Christmas to all. Last edited by goldnet : 23-12-2010 at 22:36. Reason: correction |

Didn't we "meet" in the "Popstar to Opera Star" thread a while ago - the reference to Deanna Durbin reminded me.
I heard they were planning another series too. |
