ROH have now altered the transmission to tomorrow 24th, still not showing the time, but individual cinemas are saying 7PM(East Coast)

I note that some cinemas are advertising "La Boheme" at 19.30 tonight, April 24, from Sydney Opera House "direct". I have no further information.

As far as a can make out googling it, I think it's a recording of an earlier performance. Pity. It's a while since I've seen a "Bohème" and I'd have enjoyed it. (Always worth posting titbits like this though.)

Cinemas are showing La Fille tonight at 7.15, no information on La Boheme, does not appear on ROH schedule or cinema listings.

Thursday 17th May "La Boheme" shown on big screens around the country, in London it will be in Trafalgar Square. If it is like last year there will be downlinks somewhere...last time there was a circuit on 24.5 deg. West.

I think tonight's La "Fille..." will be recordings played in various cinemas. So probably no downlinks.

Great stuff

Slightly off topic perhaps and I don't know how long it will stay up there but someone has posted the entire recording on Don Giovanni which was broadcast a while back on Arte HD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCpnKXtU7rc

Staring - Peter Mattei, Anna Netrebko, Barbara Frittoli, Bryn Terfel, Anna Prohaska.

Anna Prohaska makes a particularly delightful Zerlina...

I should say that it's a modern re-interpretation that I wasn't 100% comfortable with, but I suggest you watch it and make up your own minds especially as I think the performances more than make up for it.

Oh and look out for the naked lady - I thought they had a streaker

Personally I don't like these performances in modern dress and transposed to a different era. I guess I must be old-fashioned.

On the subject of You-Tube there are no excerpts from the last Met Ring cycle, only audio clips. Have the Met blocked these somehow ?

Don't forget Peter Grimes from La Scala on Thursday, should be on 0.8W like last night's excellent concert

I meant the individual performances as opposed to the staging... On the whole I'm not keen on all this putting a modern twist on things and setting them in a different era.

Possibly they just enforce it the removal a bit more strictly than other Opera houses, and it's probably easier for them to do so being American themselves.

AND... you're not old fashioned!

Hideously ugly production of Peter Grimes from La Scala. I gave up after about 15 minutes (although I suspect the performances of singers and orchestra were fine). The BBC 1968 recording with Peter Pears and Heather Harper will never be bettered.

Possibly the worst thing I saw recently was a modern take on Haydn's Il Mondo Della Luna... an opera I absolutely love in it's more traditional staging. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tp4XsKu2bnk sung here by a greatly underestimated singer... Adani Mariella.
