Thanks for posting this, I had forgotten this was coming up. What a marvelous concert! I saw last years, but this was even better with the dancing, the enthusiasm of Gustavo Dudamel and all in glorious HD .Better still, no presenter, take note BBC, Let the events speak for themselves.

As far as the works of Stockhausen are concerned, the best quote I know is from Sir Thomas Beecham, who when asked if he had played any Stockhausen replied that "No, but I have trodden in some"

Each to their own I guess but I'm with Sir Thomas on that one...

Anyone mentioned the following, all on 1st July on 3Sat? (All times are BST.)

Die Zauberflöte 15.10 - 1800, no details of which production.

Elina Garanca 19.30 -20.30

Gala Concert with Anja Harteros 20.30 - 21.30

Anyone else having to log in every visit? I'm not sure if the system's changed, or, more likely, my computer's developed a nasty glitsch. I seem to miss most of the email notifications of new posts too.

Sounds like a very nice musical afternoon/evening. Details of all these productions are on 3sat.de-programm,( then alter the calendar to 1 July) then use your browser,s translator if you aren,t fluent with German

Unfortunately like most French channels it's not... I'm not sure what package you require for it either.

So, no way watching it here in Ireland, except with a UK proxy?

I really enjoyed the two concerts....

I was less sure about Die Zauberflöte TBH, and for me the amount of spoken dialogue doesn't really help.

Occasionally in the past, but it hasn't done that to me for a while...

It might be worth asking elsewhere on the forum, if there is a way I'm sure someone here would know...

Was a good concert. the Germans and Austrians really love their open-air music. I wish we had the weather for more of the same, Sunday 7 July????? Is Whitley Bay now the other side of the Date Line?

Oops! Not sure how I got it wrong, I had the TV mag on my lap as I typed because I was copying the blurb. I hope no one who wanted to watch it missed out. (At least it makes a change from not knowing what day of the week it is!)

I haven't watched it yet, but it should be on my hard drive.
