I'll have to set my timer too, I'll be in mid-air on my way to a long weekend in Nürnberg for the Christmas markets when it goes out!
Yes, it was very enjoyable and Günther looked
exactly the same as he does on the screen. They pretty much went straight through it and when they cut for a commercial break the make-up people came on and the props people were busy so there wasn't really any time for either Günther or any of the "5" to relax.
Talk about a captive audience though. They started ushering us into the studio at around 18.15. That took a good half an hour, then the warm up guy had to do his bit. The show proper began at about 19.15 and ran through until 22.45. Once in the studio, if you left, you couldn't get back in again. We were lucky with our seats. We faced Günther, and were directly in front of the part of the floor where most of the "incidental business" happened. The cameras stayed mainly at the sides and even on the few occasions they were in front of us, we were high enough up to be able to see over them.
The only glitsch from my point of view was that the monitors were so small, that it was well nigh impossible to read the questions and possible answers on them. At home I often have to read through them a few times to work them out, sometimes with the help of a dictionary. At the recording I couldn't do either. Fortunately most of the questions were quite short and I think there were only 2 that had me completely baffled from beginning to end.
(We also had to sign RTL's version of the Official Secrets Act., which in effect gives them the right to fine us 50,000 Euros if we give anything away before the programme airs!)
