Thanks to all who have so diligently posted details of the holiday opera transmissions.

Seasons greetings to all opera enthusiasts on this forum.

We just have clumsy contractors who seem to see the satellite dish as some kind of target! In the summer it was the tree pruning man and a couple of weeks ago someone who came to fit a tumble drier vent...

All realigned now though as I couldn't be without at this time of year...

Got a decent signal today on 0.8W for The Trojans with English subtitles - I fiddled with the dish since last time.

I must apologise for not giving the heads up on this earlier today and hope everyone managed to catch it anyway...

I was actually at the pictures watching the hobbit and so have recorded it for tomorrow.

The first in the New season of Royal Opera House "Live in Cinema" is on Tuesday 15 January 2013... hopefully the feed will get picked up in time!

http://cinema.roh.org.uk/

The next Met Opera is the a few days later on the 19th:

Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda

January 19, 2013, 12:55 pm ET

Joyce DiDonato's performance in the title role of Mary, Queen of Scots, "will be pointed to as a model of singing," full of "plush richness and aching beauty," in David McVicar's Met premiere production. Elza van den Heever is "a vocally burnished and emotionally tempestuous" Elizabeth (New York Times). "A luminous performance" (AP). Matthew Polenzani sings Leicester and Maurizio Benini conducts.

Regarding the last broadcast; I have to say although I persevered with all 5 hours of Les Troyens it wasn't one of my favorites and personally I feel it could have been a good two hours shorter and not lost anything...

I must remember to check that on the next broadcast... it's usually a bit weather dependent for me and so I tend to go straight for 5W now and forget to look. The french subtitles on 5W are of considerably more use to my wife than they are to me...

Sorry to disappoint, but I don't think this is actually a live broadcast. A friend of mine who goes to most of them told me the other day that the only live broadcast coming up from the ROH is La "Donna del Lago" in May. (I just double checked on the ROH website and "The Nutcracker" is on at Covent Garden on 15th.)

Not even Eugene Onegin Wed 20 Feb 2013? It has a the little live badge on it...

I hadn't spotted that La Boheme doesn't have this

To be honest I find the Met site far more intuitive and easier to navigate.

I only double checked Bohème, so you may well be right.

I think you are right. Checking with Odeon 'live in cinema' shows Onegin live and La Bayadere, but not Boheme

We should have:

The Met Opera - Maria Stuarda today.. It start at 17:55 UK time but look out for the feeds from about an hour earlier.

Or you could of course take a trip to the pictures...

I don't think I will trudge through the snow and pay £30 for a seat for this, I'll watch it in front of the fire at home, thanks!

The 5W Feed on 11592 H 25780 With a choice of French or Spanish version - This is the one I use as I get the strongest signal here.

I'm also getting three 0.8W feeds on 11474 V 13309 (English version) 11497 V 13309 and 11574 V 13309

There's also a feed at 24.5 W on 11547 H 13309, but again this is quite weak for me...

Just pleased as I had a bit of spare time that I managed to find them all

Anyone who watched Maria Stuarda,on Thor, have any problems with selecting English subtitles?
Even though multi-lingual subtitles were available, only one working for me,were the Russian subtitles.

No problem with English subtitles for me on 0.8W, separate feed for the Russian subs, did you have the right one?
