Great pity...I have to set up mine manually.

As I guessed, it was visually stunning. They don't seem to muck around with Ballet as much as Opera.

Falstaff from the Met tonight...I suspect best avoided.

I am getting to the stage where I will just burn the Audio to CD.

Not the Royal Ballet, I know, but a couple of Nusskracker are listed for 21st on 3Sat at 2015; 25th on Arte at 2320; 26th on 3 Sat at 0925 (all CET).”

Thanks for that my wife loves the Nutcracker...

Don't forget Parsifal tonight 16:45 from the ROH...

Hopefully feed spotters will pick it up in time. If you plan to record it then I hope you have plenty of disk space

It's looking like all the feeds have moved since last time...

I'm not sure where to on 5W so as I'm not there I'm going to get a nice long recording of a black screen

Bit of a result, it's recording it anyway... I'm guessing the box just works out the symbol rate itself if it doesn't match.

Sublime music, great singers, one of the world's great conductors, destroyed by a hideous ugly distracting production. I gave up after about half an hour.

It confirms my belief that Wagner is now best performed on the concert platform...Barenboim's Ring cycle at the Proms!

Nuff said,

Only five more hours to go! Where's the spirit that built an empire?

I've recorded it in three parts so I can watch it as a serial...

Having completed the marathon example of self flagellation, for that is how it felt, I can only say no matter how often or hard I try, Wagner operas are just not for me.

Up to the first interval it is to me just one slow, very slow, lament after another from the male characters.

After the first break it brightens up a bit and leading up to the second interval was actually quite enjoyable, giving false hope for the final third... But no, yet more endless laments from the male characters with only the last five minutes rescuing it a bit for me.

I had seen Parsifal before a long time ago and it left me cold then. This even more depressing production did nothing to change my opinion that it is just a deeply depressing opera despite the supposedly happy ending...

I love opera and love to promote it... but really I can't hand on heart say I've ever yet enjoyed a Wagner opera.

I think it is so dependent on the particular production...Parsifal was appalling, as indeed are most of the modern productions. Best performed on the Concert Platform, which does rather defeat the whole concept of the art form.

For me opera is total escapism, I love to get completely lost in the beautiful music and above all the arias and at the end I feel happy/uplifted even if it has an unfortunate ending for the characters...

For me none of the Wagner operas I've ever seen have that feel good factor, if they invoke any emotion at all it's generally one of deep gloom.

Fledermaus without subtitles is always a problem because of the substantial dialogue. Nevertheless this was a fairly traditional production and Christian Gerhaher was wonderful as Eisenstein.

One of my favourite operas and Rolando Villazon always plays the role brilliantly...

My box is the Ross HD. I found the ballet transmission by blind scan on 0.8. 11475 V 14000 The audio was in AC3, do you have to alter your audio setting for this ?
