Cheer up, everyone! I carefully recorded 3h 45m of nothing. Final credit still frozen on TV screen. That'll teach me to set up in a hurry before going out. Now say after me, "AV1 is not satellite... AV1 is not satellite..."

Don't forget the Met Opera transmission on Saturday 6pm. Should be a good performance judging by the American critics' rave reviews !

Turned out to be the Bregenz Festival production from last year, which they are repeating in 2014

French and Spanish on 5W 11592 H 25780 as usual I'll be watching in French as I get a better signal on 5W

I reckon it's 11.472 V 13310...slight difference in the calibration of the receivers? Might account for slight loss of signal? This is the one that I used it seemed better than 5W

5W is reported as 11.591 H 26620 (Symbol rate exactly twice the rate as all the other feeds...not quite sure what that means though)

I now have to find a way of burning a DVD with the subtitles.

I can only record with subtitles by using a scart lead to DVD recorder. Would love to know the secret if you can do it in HD

I didn't check all the feeds for La Boheme, but I believe that 7E 11166 H 13310 had English subtitles inserted into the video, so enabling it to be recorded in HD. This was certainly the case when ROH broadcast Prince Igor a little while back.

For La Boheme I decided that I could manage without subs., although we watched it with the English subs selected. I can still play it directly from my satellite receiver and select whichever subs I want....it's just that so far I've not found a way of burning a DVD with the subs.

'aint technology wonderful.

Almost certainly...

I'll try tweaking it next time, but I assume it uses some form of AFC to lock to the channel...

I watched this performance on ARTE HD last thursday. It was transmitted with German sub-titles but French subs were available on the remote. Unfortunately these were overlaid on top of the German subs so you could not read either of them. Shame

I've just realised that this isn't on a satallite channel, it's a pay to view internet channel so I won't be watching....

I have watched several concerts from digital concert hall, by Berlin Phil and Simon Rattle Unfortunately I can't remember which satellite they used. If you want to see this concert keep your eye on Satelliweb. Otherwise you could always watch Cosi from the Met

Looking at future programmes the Berlin phil seem to have dropped their' Live in Cinema' satellite broadcasts in favour of on-line broadcasts. However, the ROH programme shows they will be transmitting Manon Lescaut in June.

Always found it difficult to get my head around Shakespeare...especially in modern costume. Brilliant cast by all accounts though.
