I have it recorded but I haven't checked it yet. However I always record the French subtitled version on 5W as I get a better signal...

[quote=Phil Thomas;80038913]I wonder if any one watched or recorded Il Trovatore and Otello from the Met?

On both occasions I experienced break up on sound and vision which often (but not always) seemed to be triggered by the sub titles. However, since it was the same on all the satellite feeds I find it hard to believe it was a problem with my receiver. It was still present on the 5 deg. west French and Spanish dedicated feeds.

Never had any problems in previous years.

I remember having this problem two years ago, only with the Met HD transmissions. I contacted Ross, the receiver manufacturer, and they said the Met had changed their audio to AC3, and the older boxes could not handle this properly. I replaced the box with a later model and have had no problems since

Tannhäuser Sat, Oct 31, 2015 tonight... Unfortunately I've missed an hour as I forgot that the USA clocks don't go back until this Sunday.

I too forgot the time change, but have break up on all the satellite feeds. I wonder which satellite feed you used.?

I think I may have a receiver problem.

Many thanks for the offer...I wasn't too interested in Tanhauser anyway, more interested in my reception problems, which I think I may have fixed !!!......hopefully.

Thanks again...regards to all,

I always use the French feed on 5w as the English feed om 0.8W has always been borderline for me...

Thanks for that, I missed it last year and it's usually very good. My recorder is duly set. I see the incomparable Max Raabe is the presenter again, I just wish I could understand more of what he says!

According To their website, it's a live stream of a rehearsal for "The Nutcracker".

The label has now changed to 'ENO Mikado' (which is billed for 1930 tonight) and a very different test film. Odd that the original quoted feed was clearly an ROH test (with 'Che Gelida Manina' and their name in the surround sound portion). Anyway, better than EastEnders, I think!

Thanks for that.

There was a minor panic here when I went upstairs to set the DVD recorder and nothing worked. Changing the batteries in the remote made all the difference!

Which Arte - the French version on 13E or the German version on 19.2E OR both?

It's definitely on 19E as it's on the EPG.

It was also available live from about 16.00 on 0.8W, 5.0W and 24.5W which I found by accident.

Settled for recording it on the 5.0W feed with subtitles in French.

Anna Netrebko was in fine voice, although I can see why it is rarely performed.

Netrebko was fine. Verdi not so bad. La Scala as expected. But if I say that I enjoyed the HItchcock (The Trouble With Harry) that preceded it on ARTE... that says it all.

Just had a flyer for a Met in HD 'Encore' performance of Magic Flute this Saturday at 1255 (Eastern). The Met's map shows it at most of the usual London cinema venues but it isn't listed locally (yet?). With so many locations shown it could be via satellite rather than local playout.
