Sorry, the winds here have been playing havoc with my dish, so it's not been worth trying to record anything. I'm still getting a signal, but much weaker than it should be, so lots of break ups.
I didn't know it was on! I really miss the updates I used to get here.
The satellite guys are coming next week, sooner if they're in the area and have a spare half hour. It's the second time in as many months, we've been having some powerful winds here this winter!
I can usually pick up the live feeds, but there's still nothing coming through at the moment.
What are the co-ordinates for the Kaufmann please? I keep watching Satelliweb, but apart from the lunchtime details, there's nothing new come through there. (There's a possibility I could pick up both on .8W if I can just nail down the feed details!)
Edited to add that the live feed is now coming through on .8W

probably be on the same feeds as Met opera, hope so. I don't want to miss the BEST TENOR IN THE WORLD !!!!! singing my favourite composer . Fingers crossed !!!
Are you sure the Kaufmann is being beamed out via satellite? I hope you're right, but I ask because I know there's a CD and DVD of him singing Puccini that he's been promoting and it's not a live performance. In addition, it's being shown on different dates in other countries; the French have to wait until March and it's on next week in Munich.

14th Feb 17.30 - 18.15 Stars von Morgen (Stars of Tomorrow) presented by Rolando Villazon. This appears to be a mix of singers and instrumentalists and it's on weekly for 4 weeks.
14th April 22.40 - 01.20 Die Zauberflöte from Aix-en-Provence. This is a 2014 production.
Just picked up a test feed on 0.8W 11471/V 13310 labelled FHP live with a Magic Flute excerpt in the sound test loop. Any bright ideas what to expect? The language is Scandinavian. Maybe Stockholm. Maybe Medea - is that Cherubini? Have to wait and see.
Looks like Madea but no subtitles found.
Horribly modern!

Yes, I watched it,I thought it was a good production, but I am never very keen on shifted time scales, and operas do not always transfer well to a different era.The music of course was excellent, Roberto Allagna "did his best" but personally I would have preferred Jonas Kaufmann in the part.He was originally booked for the part but pulled out due to an unspecified illness.Shame, hope he soon gets better !

I quite agree. Sometimes I just have to wonder what is going through their minds.
On the whole I much prefer them sent in the period intended.
The Next Met offering is:
Madama Butterfly Sat, Apr 02, 2016 12:55 PM their time!
