C,
Not very clever, I know, but I usually look at the (UK) Odeon Events website which often lists the obvious suspects well in advance. If you pick an event and then a cinema it will tell you the time the programme starts so you can estimate when to start looking for the feed. Beware: some 'encore' events and 'specials' are not broadcast but presumably shown locally from disc or whatever other source.

Nutcracker from ROH tomorrow and MetOpera on Saturday!
You may find some others on the French Pathe Cinema website including Bolshoi.

I was specifically after the La Scala ones. I use the all of the above at the start of the season and list the all in my calendar. The French and Barcelona ones are flagged on the 'Rising Alternative' website.

There are one or two other really useful places for tests, but I have no idea where to get advance warning of the La Scala ones!

Thanks for that - First time I found out about a La Scala broadcast in time! I looked on their website to see what other broadcasts there were but could find nothing. Is there a website that gives some advance notice?

I have found this site to be useful for classical music ,does not always show the operas

This site is back. http://www.klassikkalender.de/TV-Programm/te/300 Apparently the owner discovered that he'd disappointed so many people when he took it down, that it encouraged him to bring it back. (Extremely loose translation.) What I like best is that he breaks all the programmes down into categories, so you can see all the opera pretty much at a glance.

ARD also still have a schedule online, http://programm.ard.de/TV/Themenschw...anz/Startseite

Neither seems to cover anything on the Austrian channels like Servus though.

This thread is now 6 years old, great to see it still going strong... 👍 So what do we have coming up over Christmas?

I haven't had much chance to look recently, but nothing from the Met or the ROH until Jan 2017 now...

There's a Lucrezia Borgia with Gruberova coming up on 3Sat this evening. 19.15 - 21.30 British time. Other than that, not a great deal from the looks of things.

24th Arte has a Gala Evening from the Opera Bastille on 16.25 - 17.45 British time

24th 3Sat Hansel and Gretel 19.15 -21.15 British time

This is a good blog to find out when the ROS and MET opera feeds go up. and where to look, they stop short of giving out the frequency but a blind scan of 11400--11699 on 0.8°W finds it virtually every time.

There is almost always somthing on Intelsat 1002 at 0.8°W which is where most UK dishes are pointing for these events.

80cm should be ok for these events, 1m should be flawless except in super heavy rain like sky, but I think 1.2m is the Spec.

Not opera, but the Berlin Phil New Year concert is starting at 4pm UK time (eg now!) on Thor 1W, 11521 V, FEC 12891, 7/8. Coming in well in sunny Scotland on 80cms dish
