daughter has this phone and as were were chatting she was telling me that this phone cannot open picture messages she has to go on line to see them is this right or is there a way round it that she doesnt know about ??

I'm not an expert on the n900, but I know that early firmware used the on-line method (its constantly on-line so it doesn't make a huge difference). I don't know whether this changed with future software or whether there is an app in the repository.

There is an app available. I must admit I never use SMS on the 900 - I just send an e-mail.

No point in doing that as the N900 never had MMS as default .... but as already stated there is an app for that.

There is an app called fMMS.

It can be found in App Manager > Download
