Craig should go!

Craig admitted on this week's ITT that he had overmarked Scott. He has compromised his principles by agreeing to dance with Ann on the tour. Now we will see him give her extra marks to keep her in. Or he might give her a really low mark to get her the sympathy vote. Either way, I don't think we can trust his marks for Ann.

Surely these two things mean Craig should go?

I heard him say that Ann was improving.Do you think that its so he can give her a better mark than he has been doing.Of course he could put a 0 paddle up to set the cat amongst the pigeons.

I dont think that Craig is being true to his dance ethics so he should go IMO.

I think he has been setting himself up to be able to give her maybe as high as a 4. I think it's really unfair.

So if he gives her low marks its for sympathy and if he gives her high marks its to keep her for the tour. He can't win?

We can't get rid of the only judge who gives reasonable marks. Especially with the likes of Bruno, Len and Alesha

It's win-win. That's what makes it worse.

Rubbish! Craig is a good judge, everyone has an off day.

He's going to have quite a few off days dancing with Ann on the tour.

I'll certainly be keeping an eye on his scores for signs of corruption.

I don't think Craig should go!

He is judging the dancing and he is brilliant on ITT.

Love his opinions and his honest marking on Saturdays.

Craig going would be a D-I-S-A-R-S-T-E-R!

We can't trust his marks for Scott because of what he's said in the past.
We can't trust his marks for Ann because he's blatantly biased in that he either wants her in or out.
We can't trust his marks for Kara because he's admitted that she's probably one of the best dancers to appear on the show.
We can't trust his marks for Pamela because he's openly admitted that he loves the song she's dancing to and therefore can't be expected to be objective.
We can't trust his marks for Matt because he's said previously that he likes people who take risks and Matt is planning some gymnastic b*ll*cks (ooer sounds impressive) so clearly is going to win Craig over.
We can't trust his marks for Gavin because he's stated that he fancies the ar*e off him and he thinks all Welsh blokes should be canonised and made rulers of the universe (I might have made the last bit up.)

It's clear that Craig has been fatally compromised. How he can even contemplate turning up tonight is beyond me.

Although I didn't think Craig (or any of the other judges) fairly marked Scott last week there is also the factor where 'reputation' can have an influence in bumping up scores. This can happen in sports that use judging systems to select winners (eg gymnastics, diving, figure skating). People were probably expecting Scott to give an 8/9/10 mark performance and therefore overlooked mistakes (intentionally or unintentionally). However, the difference is that Craig will re-appraise the way he marks Scott (perhaps more critically) whereas I think Len, Bruno and especially Alesha, will give him high marks no matter how the dance goes.

Do you think this has all been a (whispers word) conspiracy? Has Craig always known that he would be partnering her on the tour?

So he's deliberately been giving Ann low marks, so that he can play the journey card. He'll suddenly discover that La Widdecombe has the most beautiful placement of hands, which will of course excuse everything, and then he'll produce a 4 paddle from nowhere? Or even a 5?

Bloody hell I've read some crap on here but this takes the biscuit.

He said that having watched Scott's dance again he should have given him less than six, but he's judging on first look. Obviously the OP has glossed over the fact that Aleeeeeeeesha gave Scott a 9 because she "knew Craig would mark him down". Presumably that's okay then.

Craig is the only honest judge there, plus he's hilariously funny. He's the only one of the four worth keeping.

You are right; I should have mentioned that Alesha overmarked too. But it is plain from this board that people think that Alesha should be fired for overmarking. My point is that Craig fully admitted to over-marking AND now with him partnering Ann on the tour I don't feel we can trust his marks for her.

I don't think he has "fully admitted to overmarking" - he answered a question about whether he'd been harsh on Scott by saying words to the effect of actually when he'd watched the dance again he could have given him less. He marked what he felt was fair at the time, having just watched the dance once. I would imagine that the judges feel like that fairly often, where they watch the dance again and feel they've been too harsh or soft. Unlike Aleeeeeesha who clearly had an agenda to mark Scott on something other than his performance.

Could not agree more! He is the only judge that actually gives consistent marks.

Totally love Craig!!!

His judging is honest and he praises as much as he is critical.

He's contemporary and theatrical.

Good on ya' Craig - don't go anywhere!

I would love it if Craig held up a home-made 0 paddle for one of Ann's dances.

Have you considered Craig might have said Ann was improving because her AS training this week did actually look better than her Rumba did on Saturday? Craig doesn't need to set himself up to give Ann a better mark than 1 when it's only in the last two weeks he's given Ann 1 (so to speak - obviously no-one has ever given Ann one in any other sense ).
