The padels said 9, but the screen displayed Alesha and Bruno's scores as 10s and added it up to 37.

Quite possibly that's what the man posting the scores had been told to expect .
I think it's very worrying .

typical fix by the bbc, they might have just been told how the public might react to scott being over marked AGAIN for another week

another cock up proving that the scores are already known by the bbc as the judges watch the dress rehearsal and make the scores then

It certainly looked very odd. I don't trust any of the scoring now, but at least this week we didn't have too many props!

It was revealed in previous years (by Craig on camera I think) that immediately the dance finishes the judges are obliged to punch their vote into an electronic pad, and are not allowed to change their marks despite their subsequent comments or fellow judges' comments.

Unless the boardmarker got the numbers from the electronic pad, I wouldn't know where they got two 10's from.

If the scores were KNOWN how could there have been a mistake. KNOWING the scores in advance would have avoided mistakes.

It's happened before - there's a human factor between the pad scores, the paddles and the vocal chords.
Plenty of opportunity to get it wrong!!

How odd tonight when Scott scored 7-8-9-9 the on screen graphic showed 7-8-10-10 had the last two judges mis-read the script?

I'n thinking there must have been some issue with the scoring pads the judges punch their scores into after the dance, which led to the mess-up on screen.

If you watch it back (particularly the last dances) after each dance a sheet passes quickly down the desk, and each judge quickly writes on it before passing it to the nest, starting with Bruno and ending with Craig. Craig then folds it on half and quickly drops it beside his chair, where someone grabs it from before the couple heads up to the turret. I'm assuming it's a manual score-sheet so they producers know which scores to display for each judge.

I didn't notice that myself, but that would make sense, if the devices were malfunctioning, to go back to good old paper.

think they were having technical problems !

I noticed Alesha was having a problem with her scorepad as Scott & Natalie were walking over to Bruce. It looked as if Len leaned over to help her but it seems suspicious that Bruno's score came up as a 10 as well.

So none of you noticed the paper that flew from Bruno to Craig and Craig was looking to pass it to someone behind him? Looks like tech Gremlins! All you conspiracy theorists get a grip, after the phone call fiascos on all channels every show is squeaky clean.

Precisely. This is another one of those occasions where a conspiracy theory is held so dear that normal and reasonable logic flies out of the window.

I did and posted about it on the discussion thread - I just couldn't remember after whose dance it was.

Len and Craig were not amused - to say the least - but that now explains why.

"Live programme has technical problem forcing a fall-back to a manual system" shock.

I saw the paper being handed from Len to Craig then him folding it and shuffling it off the desk. I did wonder what he was doing at the time.

So technical problems with the punch pads does seem to be the explanation. I know it would have been difficult for the Beeb to explain this at the time, however it would have dismissed all the conspiracies.

No it wouldn't, these boards survivie on conspiracy theories There was probably some little geeky techie sitting there desperately trying to get the buttons to work all night, bless. It was just a malfunction I'msure, plain and simple, and I noticed the note-dropping by Craig too.
